Y'all are freaking me out! All this talk about PM and being watched when uploading or downloading a job, etc. etc. etc. I am only a lowly second-tier MT. I have been corrected a lot and it's all valid -- or an opinion based correction. All my corrections have fallen in the minor minor category, but the way y'all talk you'd think I'd be let go by now. OMG people! Our QA person just transferred to some other department, and I suspect all your observations may have been at least part of what pushed her away. So of course I will pay more attention to what this newby will have to say. But look people, if you haven't been out in the workforce lately, here's a clue: EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE employees are being watched, expected to OUTPERFORM themselves as well as everybody else, and being asked to do it for LESS MONEY. Our Government is encouraging this by providing monetary encouragement to the employers to HIRE MORE PEOPLE!! -- thus making that unemployment percentage go down. AND, the only way employers can hire more people is to reduce the pay for everybody. Do you think MedQuist will be left out of this wave?
So, good grief, get over it already! Keep working as best as you can and OMG, quit nit-picking too. Do you have a job? Are you short on work? Can you do something about it -- like ASK your CCM how you might be of more help in meeting scheduling issues? Don't cut off your nose to spite your own face. TALK TO YOUR CCM -- at least ask if you can somehow make more money and meet a scheduling issue too! Become flexible and you will become more valuable. It's not just about production you know!
As for the "checking for errors" window that pops up, that happens on INCOMING jobs to my desktop -- and for the OUTGOING jobs, it is checking for all KINDS of issues -- not necessarily quality. Like maybe, virus/software issues, all that bad stuff on the web, or prying eyes. MAYBE the word "errors" represents more than we realize. GEEZ Get over yourselves already!!! Hey, good luck too. I mean, it IS hard keeping up with all the changes and still making money. Just do the best you can, and if that ain't paying the bills, well baby, maybe you better check into going back out into that wonderful workforce where you have to communicate politely with all those people IN PERSON.
UGHHH!!!!!!!!!!
