awhile back, i had posted about how MQ had taken over the company that i worked for and cut our pay in half...well, i am very happy to say that today, they they reinstated to almost what we were making, and are making it retroactive...

I've been with this company for almost 2 decades and have seen over a dozen buyouts and have never once seen them "give back" what the old company was earning, even less imaginable to make it retro. You guys must be special.

I hope you get everything in writing.

I know you have read people complain about having their wages cut on a regular basis on this forum. Most of us, have been here over 5 years. SUDDENLY, someone not only gets their old pay back (I can only hope you were making less than our range of normal now, which is why this happened) AND gets retroactive pay????? Hmmmm....not sure how to take this. Could be you are just trying to make people feel worse then they already do? Myself personally, I made very good money here one time (close to 50K)...but that was before all my "incentives" were taken away. I didn't land here, I chose to be here. So....what is that saying about how MQ treats their loyal MTs? I just don't understand this post at all. If it happened, good for you. If it were me, I wouldn't brag about it though. Not here. Not where so many people who have been screwed over can read it and be made to feel worse. What was your motive? I just don't get this one.....

I think this person just came here to stir the pot. I've never known Medquist to give *anything* back after taking it from their employees unless it involves a lawsuit - doing it voluntarily out of the kindness of their stone cold hearts would be a first. Don't believe the poster's claim for a second - it would never happen.

where they had reimbursed me for my phone line. Remember when they used to pay for a phone line? I really thought it was a mistake as I could have sworn they were reimbursing me regularly. I recieved a check somewhere around $500 dollars. I was not about to ask questions!! I wished I would have kept the paystub just to remember the exact amount but I tossed it out. If this person is being truthful maybe its a good sign for the rest of us? Who knows,, maybe with that questionnaire they sent out they know how unhappy people are. I am just trying to have a lot of hope and I do mean a lot. We need it around here.

It seems to me they pit us against each other. They don't want us talking. They do their darndest to make sure we don't have each other's email addresses. They give some of us raises, some of retroactive pay, some of us good treatment...I mean why can't they treat us all the same? Some of us can use our laptops to work on, some of us are told its against policy. Some of us can use PTO to make up for time we sit with no work, others are told it isn't allowed. Its just crazy! I am happy for her, if she got something good. Just wish what went for one, went for all. I haven't heard anyone else say....ME TOO!!!!

Well Good Friday to me. I left Spheris. It is indeed the best Friday for me in a very long time. Makes no difference that I know of to the dictator. Doesn't save him or her any money. Probably a negative for the patient, as I sincerely believe there is a bigger chance of their medical record being less than accurate. I have been an MT for 8 years before moving up to the MME position recently. I told myself that I would never nitpick as I experienced in the past. I still hold true to that. We are to only fill in the blanks unless we note an obvious error, then its full QA, except we get paid the fill-in-the-blank line rate rather than 100% QA line rate (3 cpl rather than 4). After struggling financially and being increasingly unhappy with my job for three years (yes, only three years) I am officially DONE with MT work. I have other skills that would be more fullfilling to pursue and i'm going to do it. Honestly, i'd settle for a job at a grocery store at this point. At least i'd have a steady paycheck. I don't know if it's just me, but the monotony of this job makes me crazy. Just doing the same thing all day, every day, no socialization, QA ...

ITS HORRIBLE and you are barely making your lines for that night? This is like clockwork. I will have a good day of dictation, speakers that actually make sense eventhough the VR still stinks and high line counts...the very next day, I am stuck with the worst speakers out there and barely get anything done and line counts to make you cry. I had been feeling so fortunate, getting mostly good dictators in recent months, but now, in the past couple of weeks, all I'm getting are dictators with thick accents with bad sound quality and static or female dicators with high-pitched, monotone voices that are like fingernails on a chalk board. I could do MT in my sleep. I fill in blanks with almost a 100% completion rate. My QA scores are excellent. Any specialty, name it, I know it. And yet I'm embarrassed to tell anyone what I do because NOBODY CARES ANYMORE. And I can't find a job doing anything else either. There just aren't any jobs that really require this skill.
