QA changed my report to an error - Unreal

Fiesa sent me an error email. QA changed my report, which was correct, to text that would be considered a critical error. As you would imagine, I submitted a reversal. I know they are just as stressed out as we are and that their pay was cut too, but this is unacceptable.

I believe the OP is saying that QA inserted an error into an originally correct report. QA created an error that was not there to begin with. QA fabricated an error. If that is in fact what happened, I just have no words. Even for Nuance, that is horrifying. I'm so sorry OP. That QA person should be fired on the spot.

I've been wondering and worrying about this for a while. Is there a way we can see changes made to our report by QC since they aren't listing that in FIESA anymore?

and QC changed something or filled in the blank with something wrong, and Fiesa pulled it (QA? whatever), and marked the MT down for something QC put in the report. This is WRONG, and I sure hope you get your reversal.

QA, QC whatever. In all my years before the N, we called it QA. Maybe we should all agree on something to avoid confusion on this site. I am calling QA Fiesa, and QC ? Anyone? I will say Blanks. We should figure out some way to avoid the confusion on this site.

Perhaps just learn to properly differentiate between the two. - There are very important distinctions.

This brings to mind the equally unfair instances in which entire reports that an MT DOESN'T type are counted against that MT; situations where the WRONG REPORTS end up in an MT's FIESA that were not even typed/edited by that MT. There is so much blatant nonsense that reduces our pay that we are painfully aware of, but to ALSO have to constantly be on the lookout for mistakes made by others that reduce our pay even further--unbeknownst to us unless we are actively taking the unpaid time to look for OTHER PEOPLE'S MISTAKES--is just a whole other level of criminal.

QC got a pay cut and just fills in the blanks and corrects any errors they see in doing 100% VTT on a report that the MLS/MT submitted to IQA ONLY.

QA are the ones that pull "random" reports and make corrections that reflect in your pay or placement on the grid of death.

I do know FOR A FACT that if a QC even breathes on a report that an MT/MLS has sent to IQA, whether they make any changes or not, and QA later finds an error, that error is charged against the QC and not the MT/MLS at all. Been there, done that!!!!

I know it is your time, effort and frustration, but please fight this. If nothing else show the big fat N that their system is flawed and unreasonable -- plus an unjust error reflects on your good name and reputation as a taltented MT/MLS and further circles your pay rate down the drain!

And then gets drawn in the QA lottery to be post audited any errors found are not counted against the MT,but the QC. If QC misses a mistake the MT made they get penalized and if they make a mistake themselves they get penalized. They have to review as many reports as they can looking for errors. Their job is to catch mistakes but they are expected to do it as fast as possible because they are paid on production using the now infamous grid. I bet if you took a poll you would find the majority are making less than minimum wage and the company is compensating them because they have no choice. It truly is the worst position to be in at this company.

With the rush for MTs to produce more and more, QA now will get 7 page reports with literally hundreds of blanks, yet you are to do so many reports per hour. It's a joke.

This used to happen when I worked for Acusis. - (All those Indian QAs, I guess.)

It was just one of many reasons I decided to get out of there. The fact that they can manipulate your QA scores (and thus your pay) means that no matter how hard you work, or how correct your transcription is, you still have no control over the end product. Any company that does that is DESPICABLE.

Thanks ILP. You have blown me away. In a 10-minute report you have managed to get approximately 50 errors... This is of course after your MT finished the report, routed it through 100% review with your QA, and then sent it to lucky me... Yippy. ...

All headers are now no longer counted in the line count. We're already out of work most of the time and now this. We don't get paid for cc's that we add or all the info on the pt before we ever start typing. I'd say when we do have work they're getting a lot of free work from us. ...

I've talked with several MTs recently who work for different companies. The companies have to send out reminders to the MTs that they are supposed to be at work at specific times. Since Saturday when the new pay plan went into effect, I've gotten nothing but the worst of the worst doctors on this account. Most of these I've only gotten a few times in the past (luckily), but now that is all I am getting. What happened to the regulars I used to get before Saturday?? I was working for a company that got bought out by another company and the client I was typing for was paying 12 cents a line, now the new company will only give me 7.5 cents a line for the same client.
