Nuance's contempt for its employees - Makes me sick

"If you are so unhappy with your pay then maybe it is time to get a new job. Sending a medical record to someone who should not have it is illegal and as such can be prosecuted. Now, it goes without saying that issues such as this are investigated, but I am sure if you are a Nuance employee you had to take the HIPAA training provided by the company, and if you paid attention you would not need to ask in what capacity you can be held responsible. If it were your medical records that were sent or released to someone they should not be I would hope you would be outraged and demanding an explanation. It is not just the touch of a key as we are supposed to verify all carbon copies to make sure they are going to the right place, and if in any doubt don't do it. Send it to QC or upload as the AI allows, but don't add the cc. You should also always double check any cc you have added to make sure it is correct. Don't mean to be harsh, but you can also make a mistake on a medication "with the touch of a key" and someone could end up seriously hurt. If you do not think these things are important or should be your job because you don't make enough money, I suggest you look for another line of work."
My response -- You obviously have not a clue of the miserable feelings evoked in employees by Nuance's contempt for them, as your response is perfectly in line with it. I was a "rope a dope" victim who went to work for Nuance through my former hospital employer. I was the victim of outright LIES and DECEPTION from recruiters. Within days, I discovered the true nature of this enterprise, although it took months before I received my first minimum wage paycheck (first in my decades long work life). Finding another job was my highest purpose through the many months I endured with your company. Your outrage is totally misplaced. Working full time and digging into savings for survival trumps sending an erroneous cc ... puhhhhlleeeeeese :-(

I read what you quoted and my blood pressure went up, but I didn't reply because I had several appointments. You summed it up perfectly, and I would add a few things: When we were Webmedx, we could flag QA regarding a question of a cc and it didn't affect our bonus or increase our blanks. I took great effort and pride in my work then and I am a professional and an RN and understand the importance. Now fast forward to Nuance borg taking over, and our pay is cut almost by half (for me at least) and we are harassed to maintain line counts and berated and told it is our fault we are not making the same amount of money. We suddenly have about 5 to 6 MORE accounts to learn, most with 30-40 page account specifics. I did due diligence and made spread sheets to try to remember all of the minutia of each account but of course this further lowered my line count and pay. Now if I was uncertain of a cc, it counted against us to leave a blank, further lowering my pay. And the quality of audio and the horrible dictators made it nearly impossible to verify. I sent all of these to QA and my pay was lowered to minimum wage and to show their contempt, this company does not pay us even a cent for all of this research/it is built into our pay??? Their greed and contempt for us knows no bounds. Going to quit now before I say something more that will get this post removed!! Happily an ex-Nuance employee, best day of my life was quitting!!

WMX was the BEST and so were all our QA people. Congrats on getting out. I'm retiring soon, so will be out of this mess, but this is just not "right". Guess I'm old school .... taught that you get an honest day's wage for honest work. Guess that is no longer taught in Business Schools. I am soooo sick of the daily emails with recipes, family pictures, family updates, vacation pictures, and the "oh no" emails in hysteria when there are 10 reports in the backlog due in 72 hours. It's just the end of the world. Give me a break. I arrive on time for my shift....I held up my end of the bargain, you are dropping the ball N.

But....it is okay to send our personal medical records to another country for transcription purposes, which I believe, is out of the US jurisdiction for prosecution if that information gets sold, etc., etc., etc. Hmmmmm Fart and blame it on the dog.
