Everyone acts like it's all something new not to be provided a computer. As a former recruiter, let me tell you that 98% of equipment sent out was not returned and this very expensive for any company. It's not Nuance's fault XP will no longer be protected. There is no reason to go in debt for a new computer when you can easily buy one for less than 200, and remember it's all tax deductible and they have the loan plan if you meet the qualifications.
Fiesa is to make everybody aware of the mistakes they make. QA/QC are also gone behind, checked, and graded. Some of the errors we see are amazing - I've seen it all, male body parts listed as being in the brain, x-ray of the brain to check for cancer of the leg, you name it. The big ones are wrong medications. Some people try very hard and make an error now and then and we know who is who, some don't even make a reasonable attempt. How would you feel if that were your grandparent, parent, child on the other end of one of these reports? To us it may be pennies per line, but to them it's their life. I see a lot of grumbling, but you're not out there in the world buying clothes, paying for transportation and babysitting, facing bad weather. You're at home, listening to music or whatever, watching over your family and lucky enough to have a job."
I just signed up for MT Stars today after reading this post from someone at Nuance, either recruiter, QA/QC, or someone higher up than transcription. ME ... you make me sick to my stomach. A former recruiter ??? if that was with Nuance, I hold nothing but disdain for you. I proceeded with employment based on the lies, half-truths, withholding of pertinent information, and now, I deal with a manager who either feigns ignorance, specifically chooses not to be informed, or lies to me regularly.
One of the reasons I chose to go with Nuance was being told what great opportunity for advancement with this company would be available to me. Actually, I rather pity you and the people who have chosen to embrace this very bad excuse of an employer. I don't have anywhere near the required disdain for working medical transcriptionists that you do that is apparently a requisite of management here.
It's no surprise that Nuance management would monitor these boards and make half-hearted efforts at defending their practices. Do you have other duties, or is this the whole of your contribution?
