I must admit, I never looked at FIESA, not only because it was depressing and humiliating, but its not the most user friendly site. My manager was constantly badgering me for not looking at it though and actually had me try to get on the other day when she called. How do other people get away with not looking at it? I wish I could get out of this company. It's depressing, demeaning and humiliating.

There are other MTSOs out there if you're not in a position to change careers altogether. Learning a new platform, having to re-input shortcuts into a new system, or whatever your personal resistance to change issue may be (we all have at least one and those were mine), you shouldn't let it keep you a prisoner Nuance.

Depending on your age - starting a new career may not be possible. I went back to school to get out of this dead end street and never got an interview. I'm entering retirement age and I can't even get an interview to work at Walmart. Any other industry isn't intersted in years of medical transcription. Those of us who are older stand little to no chance of being hired outside this dead end job!

spending your evenings on FIESA, along with providing your own utilities, maintaining your computer, reading and responding to company email, looking up dr names that the speaker does not spell out, verifying patient age and gender (when it does not match up between demographics and what speaker dictates, medication doses that seem odd, weird lab values, finding cc addresses. . . did I leave anything out?

I honestly do not get all this hate towards FIESA. It literally takes me 30 seconds to log in at the start of my shift and check the work I did the day before. I learn from it and it makes my accuracy better which in turn makes my incentive pay go up, so it sort of does pay for me to use it.

I become so insecure in myself that I can't handle some scolding from a manager in a far off place somewhere that I've never been to with a face I've never seen. Too many victims working for Nuance if you ask me.

I guess you could say I have learned to double check the age, all vital signs, labs, anything to do with numbers, because those are the easy errors which they get big points on (and yes, it is us versus them).

But really, learn? I basically learned that if you are human and make an error once in a while they are glad to cut your pay thank you very much. And despite lowering my line count significantly with all the proofing and double proofing, it is really impossible to be as perfect as you are supposed to be to gain the requisite percentages.

If you have anything at all to learn from the FIESA comments you are not a long time experienced MT like many of us are. I have learned absolutely nothing from those comments except they will stop at nothing to try to hack my pay.

Maybe FIESA is meant for some less experienced to "learn," but for long time experienced MTs it is just a cruel hoax designed to make us into minimum wage workers.

This is one of many reasons MLS leave this company. Am I going to refer any MLS to work here to make $500 bucks off their eventual FIESA suffering? NO. I have ethics. I will not ever promote this company. Sorry Nuance, you lost me at FIESA. Stop promoting the incentive and bonus program too. Everyone knows your motive.

Terminology is rather easy to document, it is physician's wording of things in plain English. Most of what I get of critical errors are really judgment calls where the physician is either stumbling over their words or something of that nature. FIESA teaches me nothing on that because it is still a judgement call.

I'm mandated to log onto this garbage daily. If I don't I'm sure I'll be in huge trouble. It is absolutely demeaning, degrading and we have no way to defent ourselves with it since we don't have a way to listen again to what we're being graded on. This industry is the worst of the worst!

Does not all platforms have JobLister? I can go back and listen to jobs that I have a question about, and have won all the challenges that I have put in, becauswe they were wrong. Granted, I hate FIESA, and I don't check it very often, but we are supposed to. I'm with both the posters above, I really hate having to check it and not get paid for it (one of the many unpaid BS things we have to do), but I also agree that learning from the errors we make can only help us in the end.

I don't have any way to listen to jobs myself, only my TSM. Actually, even then, when she does respond to my messages, it's "too late and the job has been purged" or whatever and I can't get them reversed. It doesn't matter if it's something this doctor says on every single report and I have lots of other FIESA checks on jobs by that same doctor and have never had them correct it before. It's all subjective. If I hear "the patient" and they just hear "patient," then who's correct? Granted, they're "not supposed to count for those things anymore," but that's the best and easiest example I have.

Yes, I'm sure that FIESA was built and started as a way to share QA results with the MT's. I've also corrected several things I was hearing wrong with some of the doctors who fly through parts of their report that they have "default" text in. And sure, they have corrected me on things I didn't catch in the 20 pages of Specs for the 10th account I've been trained on in 6 months. But when there are lots of errors that I am CERTAIN I didn't get wrong, things that I would wager my job on to have corrected, and I get ignored, or I'm told that they heard something else (never asking the actual dictator what they are saying, though they say it 20 times a day), THAT is why I no longer go in there to check it.

I'm also not much for conspiracy theories, but I am firmly in the boat that my scores are always in the high 99's until 2 weeks before the quarter ends, and I can't just believe that it coincidence.

So, no, I don't use FIESA. I hate it. And they can shove it where the sun doesn't shine!

You CAN listen to your reports. Go to Dragon (NetSearch) and activate the little fog horn icon after you look up the report you want. You can play the entire report all the way through and listen to your heart's content.

That is very platform specific. They sent out a chart recently telling us which accounts could use which versions of Windows and Word, and there were at least 5 or 6 different platforms, and then 4 or 5 versions of each platform under them. So, those not on the one or two platforms that allow that are up the creek without a paddle!

I know we complain and complain about this on here and we fight and argue with the TLs about this...I was marked off half a point for EACH blank that I left on a dictation that the tape cut out. The only explanation from QA was that "it was clearly understood". I am just wondering how it was clearly understood. Okay, first quarter FIESA reviewed about 80 reports of mine and I actually got my incentive. Now for this quarter, I am wavering on not getting my incentive with a 98.88 and for the past few weeks they have not reviewed a single one of my reports. I smell something fishy. our post-audit reports are randomly pulled. If you score high enough to get the bonus, your reports are gone through by the hatchet queens in India until they can find a report they can "audit" to bring you below 99%. If you are kicked back to 98.99%, they still meet their contract requirements to the client, and Nuance does not have to pay you a bonus. ...

I almost always get my critical errors on one particular doctor who I think I understand and then it turns out I miss something. I think there is a way to do a report on critical errors and see if I can trend the dictator but I can't figure out how. Does anybody know? And before you tell me to ask my TSM I did but as usual never got an answer. ...

Much as I dislike FIESA and all this QA, what I really hate is finding out I've been typing something WRONG for 30 years. The only thing I can say for myself is some QA decades ago filled it in for me and I didn't look it up. Been typing Campo's fascia instead of Camper's fascia. Took a 1-point post-audit hit on it, too. Shakes me up, what else have I been doing wrong for 30 years? And will it knock me out of bonus territory next quarter... ...

Just for "fun," I counted how many times I prevented a critical patient safety error today by catching the speaker saying the wrong age, gender, right vs. left, hyper versus hypo, you get the picture. I quit counting at 8. Never in my many years at Nuance have I made 8 CPSEs in 1 day. So are we getting credit for the good work we do? Not very likely. ...

Got a report back below 99%--Actually 98.7% with only 0.25 point reduction...for what? I was having a good day, until I went into Fiesa...I have decided that one particular dictator--who speaks what he probably considers fluent English (He is American), is going to review for every report because he is the one I get poor scores on... And there is nothing in there as regards FIESA at all. Nada. Zip. Go ahead, do a search. It's not even in there. I have to wonder where it is written that we comply with FIESA and what the consequences are when we don't, except for emails and the shaming of the numbers of those who have not complied. I am really considering ignoring it completely. They never reverse any errors anymore, so why bother to waste the time, especially when it causes such an adverse effect on my mental heal ...

Are there no B's given on this? I have checked it each day since I started (which was just a few days ago). I either have A's or C's (with a percentage of 97 or 98%). Today I typed 27 reports and got 100% accuracy on 25 of those and 2 that had C's but my overall grade was a C!!! What am I missing. Since I am technically still on 90 day "probation" it worries me. I am typing well over the line count required and have made no "major" mistakes ...

FIESA. Just forget about it!! I see many postings to just let FIESA go. Well, to some of us, this means letting $3600 go per quarter, 14,000+ per year. I can work at a far less demanding job with no BS for that and that is what I will be doing. So sick of the comments left in the FIESA - I do NOT leave random blanks and always take the time to try and research it in the data base by either looking up patient or physician depending on what I am looking for and then when I cannot find it I leave a blank and then at end of day to see their remark that it WAS EASILY found is truly an insult and a smack in the face. Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of the types of errors that we are supposed to be marked off for? I got marked off on a report for adding parentheses to a parenthetical statement because the parentheses were not dictated. Are we really supposed to be marked off for this? Does anyone know how the company post-audit and regular QC/QA go about choosing the reports that are checked? Is there a quota per MT that is checked? Are only the ones that are not right added in on post-audit, or do they come to them automatically, not by their choice? To give an example. For Oct 1st through Dec 31st, I was checked total of 99 reports with 39 being post-audit. Now in January 1st through today, have already had 24 post-audits! Can som ...
