Does anyone here currently work or previously worked for this company. Was notified today this company has taken over transcription for my job. They are supposed to keep us on but would like to know something, anything about this company such as how they are to work for, pay schedule, assigned shifts or not, etc. I am currently home based and pretty much work what ever hours I please as long as report types I am qualified to do are covered. Please? Thanks!

None of them do compared to my current boss. As far as I'm concerned she is the best boss a transcriptionist could have. Started working for this company in 2000. She spoils her transcriptionists rotten because she truly cares about us and goes out of her way to take care of us. We in turn do our level best to earn that treatment and make her and us as a team look good and put out excellent work. I'm deeply saddened our hospital will not be using this company any longer. I know what I'm doing but still concerned about working for a new company. I love my job now because I get to work at home and have a great boss. There are pros and cons to every job, I know this, but still apprehensive of the change. Will give it my best effort no matter what. We all have to take pride in our work and abilities as professionals don't we. I'll do no less for the new employer as I do for my current one. Was basically wondering about equipment and cost to get started.

computer, which you probably already have. The software you use will be provided by them. Good luck! If you read the Nuance boards, you'll see a lot of negative. Keep in mind, it should not scare you away. They are a large company and only the opinions of those that post here. In the big scheme of things, an upside is that Nuance is definitely a stable company in this environment today.

I have only been here about 6 months, but like the software and the work, including the VR. I do wish we got a little more for the VR work. My team leads have been great. Always available to answer any question in seconds! E.mail me at wlmacd@knology.net if you have more questions. I am a disabled MT with 15+ years experience and I have a cutting edge workstation that was given to me by Voc. Rehab about 8 years ago. (I had broken my back in a horse riding accident). I have always worked at home, for several companies.

I'm not too fond of Fluency/DoQscribe. The platform itself is nice, but it doesn't seem to be as good at speech recognition as eScription. Fluency is very user friendly, but when I worked at MM it produced horrible drafts on speech recognition. I know that could in part be attributed to multiple MTs using a variety of editing styles, which could cause the platform to not learn, but all I know is it was a struggle getting a good line count with VR on Fluency. Has anyone heard of Nuance escription service? Apparently the hospital I transcribe for has decided that they don't want to use the contract service I am currently with and are going to this. My current employer tells me that the pay rate will be less than what she pays which is .10 a line. I can barely make it sometimes on that. I'm not sure how I will do on less pay. It does have more benefits, but I can't pay my bills with those. If anyone has any kind of info on what they pay ...

Hi!! We had our meeting at the hospital today with Nuance about being onboarded with them. We were told by HR that the hospital will let us keep the computers we have been working on, but that Nuance will be sending us the "special" Escription foot pedals. Is this true? For a company with technology in its name, I find this platform sorely lacking. Constantly having to correct capitals I don't want when I take out a period, it not putting a macro over what I want to change and all this backing up and retyping to change stuff or get a macro to work where I want it is driving me crazy (I know, short trip) and wasting a lot of time. Is there a way to turn this box off? Our system is not well trained yet so there is a lot of editing required. The alt-K combination is awkward for me when having to stop every few words to correct something. I edit by forwarding my cursor through the document (like the red box does) but then there is no extra work in bringing the cursor forward to where the edit needs to made as it is already there. I have now been doing EditScript for a month now and my lines are still horrific. I've read the manual over and over and still have the below questions. I currently work at Focus Infomatics in the NetCare platform doing regular MT and VR work. I just got switched over to working QC on their eScription platform, which I'm really excited about. What are your computer specs? DH brought up a good question tonight. I have recently moved from my old faithful with 80 MB hard drive with 512 memory to 380 GB hard drive with 3 MB memory. i have had nothing but problems with Escription and not making my lines. I can't just use the shortcut keys and I can't use my expander.
