XP and service pack 3 - tg

Does anyone know if you can still download SP 3 for XP Professional? I had heard MS wasn't supporting it any longer. I need a new computer but company's software doesn't work with Windows 7...or so they say.

just to get some general information. I am not a geek on this stuff but these links might help. windowsclub.com (through microsoft) mentions XP SP3 vs vista and windows 7. As far as disabling windows 7 and downloading xp sp3 is what I don't know.

I still have windows xp sp3 and love it.

I would look on craigslist in your neighborhood. You would be surprised how cheep you can pick up a refurbished XP and service pack 3. Save your windows 7 as one day all might be upgraded to that.

I stayed up way to late working on this.

Legacy forms of software that will not be upgrading can be run in XP mode, which is a separate download available for Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate versions only. XP mode is a full version of XP SP3 running in a virtual PC environment. The new computer must have enough RAM and memory to do this and have virtual PC capabilities. Something I will make sure of before I purchase a new system.

Now, I found that to run legacy MS Office programs (2007 and below), ALL factory installed office products and components must be completely uninstalled including one called Office Live for Windows 7 in order to open legacy office products and components and have them run properly.

Crazy the hoops we have to jump through to be able to work.

Does your current computer have XP on it, and, if so, do you have the COA? You can download VMWare Player and use your XP in it.

I got a new computer, upgraded to W7 Professional and downloaded Virtual Machine/XP, but discovered it doesn't recognize HIDs, as in some foot pedals. VMWare Player does. I've been using it for a couple of months, and it's working well.

Any dr. I transcribe for always says "pack-a-day" even if it's plural. I.e., "She is a two pack-a-day smoker for twenty years." I've always changed it to "packs-a-day." I'm curious if you think I'm right, or if I should transcribe verbatum. Thanks. ...

I have gotten so many Major errors today that it has completely demoralized me. Never in my life have I been marked off for some of these things and have had my percentage drop to below 98%. I have always been over 99% and now am being marked off for commas not put in (places that I have never ever placed them before) and capitalizing words in sentences that have never been marked off before but now they are saying that if I can substitute a noun for them they need to be capitalized. ...

I was sent a link to test for this company and was absolutely floored! I did the application form portion of the test and then was directed to the screening process, which was a series of multiple choice and fill in the blank questions (10 minutes it took to complete).
