I'm an early riser (3-4 a.m.), so after I have my coffee and read the news, I connect to the system. As soon as the FIRST job drops into my queue, I clock in, and I stay clocked in until I take an extended break.
It's no different than working in an office. If there's no work available, you will get paid for that time.
Where did you hear that we would be paid - ...for being OOW

I've never been told anything of the sort. All we've seen in emails from our manager is to make sure we are only recording "hands on keys" time, which was a pretty stupid thing to tell us, considering how many lawsuits are coming out for not paying us for EVERYTHING ELSE we do as part of the job.
Please expand for us where you got this info. It would only be minimum wage and I make at least triple that when I have work, but it's better than sitting here for 4 hours and not being paid at all.
Triple minimum wage? - P.G.

How do you make that much? I'm lucky if I make $13 an hour!
Is "hands on keys" time still being mentioned? - nm

But if there is nothing available during my schedule, I'll be working when it IS there.
This is one reason why it isn't all Nuance's - fault there is no work for some of us

You agreed to a schedule that you most likely picked yourself. If there is no work on that schedule, try to change to another schedule. If that new schedule you want is overstaffed already, Nuance should tell you they can't accommodate that. I'm NO Nuance fan, believe me, but THIS is one of the reasons there isn't work for so many...people just hopping on whenever they want on someone else's schedule and working. It's a terrible cycle. I know everyone just wants work, but Nuance needs to get a pair and ensure everyone sticks to their schedule. This is ONE thing they have right--if only they could/would enforce it. Terrible management here.

Yep, I did pick my schedule. And, again, I would LOVE to be able to stick to it. But when work is only trickling in at certain times of the day, and I am constantly running out -- mind you, I am on EIGHT accounts -- Then yes, I am going to come back on when there is work to do. If my TSM allows us to flex our schedules, then I am going to do just that.
This problem is not about people working outside of their schedule. The problem is Nuance overstaffing all of the accounts to ensure they don't run OTAT.
The only way you could stick to your schedule - is if they would pay you if there is no work

THAT would solve it. THEN nobody would go on other schedules. But we all know that would happen when pigs fly.
I am at a loss to figure out why there is so little work lately and I have to think overstaffing is the prevalent reason.
Therefore, it IS their fault. Maybe we picked our schedules, but did they not notice maybe they are all the same? Isn't it up to Nuance to tell some people no, you can't work then it's too crowded? Preferably not those of us who have worked here years, but the newbies?
Methinks maybe all these buyouts had employees that were also working the day shift and because they didn't want to frighten the horses they thought if they let them keep their day shifts maybe it would take them a while to figure out how much their pay was being cut. I know that's what happened with my buyout.
Mark my words, people, six months brings a very rude awakening and you'll wish you took unemployment.
As per Nuance ensuring "everyone sticks to their schedule" - how would that work exactly when there's no dictation on half the time? I have been working, or at least sitting here, lately round the clock and there seems to be just dribs and drabs and everyone fighting for the work. It's horrible, so I doubt any shift is safe work-wise.
Don't you just love our job?

They could give a rip about us sitting at our computers for 12 hours trying to get in 6 hours of work. I could write so much more with very expressive language, but I would be banned from this forum for telling the truth.

One company I worked for sent out an e-mail telling us to keep our coffee pot at our work station so we would not waste time getting up for a cup. Oh, why not just catheterize everybody too so they do not have to wee. A person has to be up every hour to prevent blood clots. Slave labor as been here for a while.
I work on Saturday second shift on the west coast, so their Sunday EST maintenance period falls at 9 pm on Saturday night here. I've got other things to do on Saturday day than start work several hours early every single every other weekend. I've got a social life too. ...
Hi all ~
I am curious how frequently QA is performed at your hospital.
We had been on a 2-reports-reviewed-quarterly schedule, but it seems QA is being pushed further and further onto the back burner because we've been so busy.
My boss would like for me to get a feel for what others are doing out there. I've worked at some hospitals that didn't do QA, ever, so I didn't have anything I could tell her.

What did they do to our pay schedule? If I am reading this correctly, we will have a pay period from December 16 to Dec 25 and then it kicks in on a totally different schedule? Any info would be helpful since I am fairly new at MQ. Thanks. ...
How about instead of begging or demanding OT you make everyone work the schedule they are supposed to work? How about you schedule the PODs/accounts properly? Well that would all be too logical, which we all know MM doesn't have common sense to be logical. ...
I know how to find my PTO balance; but, how do you find out what it was at different dates previously, or if you even can. My PTO balance hasn't changed in over a month.
If anyone knows, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Can anyone answer a question about this new procedure? I want to swap a shift for next week but having trouble understanding this new process. I guess if you want to work a different shift on a particular day, you would first need to post yours and make sure someone takes it before you claim another as you might end up working both - correct? It is not really swapping you have to give yours up and then hope there is one you can pick up. I am not really sure why we di ...
Does anyone know if your schedule is not showing up in teamwork if it matters or not?? Since lockout is not in place I do not know if this is a big deal or not. I It was always there until just recently. I do have a new ccm so maybe it got lost in the shuffle. TIA ...
Reading over the memo concerning the new payroll schedule, what I sumise is we are not getting paid on 12/24 but will get paid on 12/31 instead. Am I reading this wrong? I sure hope so. ...
I have just started working for Medquist two weeks ago..I am struggling with working a noon to 6 shift Sun-Thurs..I used to work M-F 5 am to 11 am with my other company until they closed down. I am considered part-time (min of 24 hrs) but I work 30. Do you think they will be p...ed if I were to ask for a day off in the middle? I am already always asking for a couple hours off here and there for PT and and doctor's appts for my children. ...
Hi folks, can someone tell me where the approval button is to approve the hours you have worked in the new schedule format? I have looked for it, but can't find it anywhere. Thanks. ...
So, our CCM sent out an e-mail that she has received a directive that if we are not working our exact schedule, we are going to receive an oral warning and then be performance managed.
If there is no work, we have to put in a Q-Care ticket or we will be performance managed.
Remember when we first were pitched the idea of working at home? One of the points was that we could be flexible in our schedule. Now we are just slave wages on an assembly line with no deviation in schedule. Just anot ...
Reading through the many different polices, if I am reading this correct, you can be a flex-employee, 2000 lines per wk? Do any of you work this kind of schedule? Considering leaving, but would still like to work very part-time and this would be great. ...
We just received the Rewards booklet (more than 1 week after I became an MModal employee).
Do they really lock you out of the system outside of your schedule?
Thanks for this info and any other advice (other than run like ****, lots are trying to do that already).

Has anyone on here ever been written up for not following schedule? I know its important to follow but they out of the blue last summer called me up and said I had to change my schedule and I now have more evening hours. I was already working on Sundays but anyway I used to work 2 hours in the eveings and would somehow like to get back to that instead of 4 hours. CCm in my group sent out an email a short while ago stating if she found out people were not working schedule ...
I guess this is just a question to those who have been part of a Nuance merger in the past. Were you able to keep the schedule you were working before the merger, or were you herded into the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift spots? I work split shift over two of them right now. Anyone allowed to keep working M-F after a merger?
I suppose I'm mainly wondering if I can continue to pick my own random schedule after the Trasncend merger is complete. ...
Could someone advise me what the pay schedule is? When I worked for the Q, it was twice a month, different days of the week, but their site says biweekly. Is this correct? Thanks. ...
For anyone working at Landmark, when you make your schedule for the month, what is the least amount of lines you commit to a day?
Reason I'm asking is, I've found Landmark runs of out work quite often. I've had my schedule set at 700 lines per day, but I feel like I have to be logged on for 10 hours just to reach that point since it's NJA a lot.
Recently, I've lowered myself to 500, then 400, and was thinking of going down a bit lower and making them my part-time job. ...
Does anyone know what the pay schedule is for accentus? monthly, weekly, bi-weekly? do they do a hold back week? any information would be appreciated. Thanks! ...
If your "boss" makes a suggestion that since you run out of work a lot and suggests maybe you need to move to a different shift but OBVIOUSLY that won't make a difference what is their next step? I've always made way over their line requirements and audit requirements. There just doesn't happen to be any work lately during my shift, or at least not much. ...
Are they now going to be changing our schedules without our knowledge to conform to the POD model? (whatever that is). Email seems to indicate that...current schedules have been wiped out. ...
Okay, I hate MM just as much as anybody here. The company sucks. However, what the heck is with all this whining about schedule changes and not being able to work the schedule you want. I have worked at least a dozen jobs in my life, cook, baker, park attendant, janitor, waitress, cake decorator, manager, in-house MT, etc. The only one that I can think of where I actually chose my schedule was the manager, and even then it was pretty restricted. All the other jobs, ...
Ever since the recent schedule changes has everyone been working what they are supposed to be working? Those who were changed 1 hour either way, did you stick with your old schedule or did you go to the new schedule? I'm curious because I'm having a very, VERY hard time with the new 1 hour difference and sticking to it. I do have a life outside MM and have things to do, people to see, places to go lol. ...
