I see it here often and I just read it again, misplaced on the Job Seeker's forum:
"I just graduated from an MT school and everything requires experience. How do I get experience?"
This is a question that needs to be addressed with the schools you are choosing. And it should be asked BEFORE you start the course. There are courses that are less expensive but they lack various key components-- like instructors, placement assistance, etc. (That's not addressing the education they often lack as well.)
When doing your homework and choosing a school, you need to know from your school if you will have placement assistance. If not, how long is it taking an MT from their school to get hired, etc. Once you've invested your precious dollars, countless hours, and received an all-too-often-less-than-adequate education, it's too late to find out that the positions for newbies are few and far between.
