How long should I expect the holiday slump to last? - June

I am trying to learn a new clinic account and find little to no work. I can't even come close to getting my minimum line requirement of 1,200 daily. How long does the holiday slump generally last?

Not complaining, mind you, just saying that there are too many variables to be able to answer your question. I work for a huge hospital, so it keeps on churning out the work, whereas a clinic account is likely to be slower, as people do not want to schedule elective appointments during the holidays. I wouldn't worry--I bet you will be up and rolling after January 3 or so, if my past experience with clinic work is any indication. I hope so! Happy new year! Good luck to you.

[ In Reply To ..]pick up after 1st of year, it will be because kids have spring break and dr. taking family on vacation, then it will be work is slow cause school is getting out and dr taking off to take family on vacation, then it will be 4th of July is slow cause dr is going on vacation. Get it?? Just excuses by MTSO to explain dwindling work as more available work goes OS.
Until April, when it's replaced by the "Spring slump", - which lasts until the "all-summer slump", -sm

After 20 years of hospital-based HIM transcription, they gave us away to Medquist. I feel set up for failure by not getting consistent hospital accounts and never having a chance to learn a specific account. Here's the deal...my company says if/when you work a holiday, they will give you the equivalent hours in PTO to use later on (you work 8, you get 8 PTO).
