working for M*Modal? - MT2

I have passed 1/2 the testing & saw some negative things about M*Modal. Since I tested, they have called me, emailed me several times to finish my testing. I'm hesitant to do so because I see so many negative things about this company. Any advice? I mean, are you guys out of work a lot? Thank you in advance!

24/7 to get enough lines and hours in for a pay period, sometimes don't even doing that. They are in the process of sending more and more work to India, so we have less here. There are probably a few who say they have plenty of work, not doubting them, but probably most don't. the ASR sucks. If you want to work for nothing then I guess that is up to you. Again, there are a few with exceptionally good docs, but very few. I'm looking for a job out of the profession since company's like MModal and Nuance have destroyed the field. They are hiring all the time because experienced MTs are leaving them and the field daily. Just my opinion, but hope it helps.

The day hurricane Sandi hit, there suddenly was no work. The boss said it was from the hurricane. It never picked up... Finally, she admitted in a phone conversation that they shifted more work to India. I lost my 4th account in 5 years. I now jump between every account that my boss (CCM/TSM) has access to, which are too many to count. It is a horrible way to work. I cannot keep my line counts up like this. I spend more time reading the client profiel than working. I keep missing things, getting emails that I did something else wrong...

This is not the job it was, and I have to figure a way out of this mess.

There has been no work since the restructuring of CCMs. I was fine working for this place and learned a few different accounts and then those were all taken away. Had to learn three more at one time with lots and lots of account specs and at least 20 e-mails per week of changes and add-in instructions.

I failed audited reports, got put back on re-review and this was all within 6 months.

This company fails to realize that not everyone is adaptable or making their own rules like I've seen some post here.

The entire team gets the nastygram when a few are not doing what the client wants. I think it rots and I really don't know who to blame. I feel for the MTs still working this company. I had to quit. I could no longer take the negativity when I was trying my best.

The old saying- they made their beds, now they must lie in them. Send it offshore... that's what they plan to do with it all anyway. There is no sense trying on any new account as it will be snatched from you as soon as you learn it. I don't know how anyone is productive and if they are it is because they are still on the same accounts.

We had a large team with really busy accounts and could hardly keep up, constant OT etc. Then came restructuring, lost CCM, quality coach got moved to another region, our team was merged with another team, a chunk of our work got sent overseas and we had to learn the new CCMs accounts.

MTs were shifted and moved to other teams because once work went off shore, we were overstaffed for our once busy accounts that we could not keep up with.

Finally, it seems to be calming down and mellowing out, as there I am back to recieving work from my main accounts since there were so many MTs moved, but still getting work from new CCM.

Work was slow around Thanksgiving, but as since picked back up, just no more OT, which I miss. But there is work.

we must be in the same region because it sounds exactly what has been happening with me since the middle part of October. I'm finally seeing a return to higher line counts as I'm getting familiar with the new accounts, but like you, I sure do miss the overtime (though I did complain about it when it was mandatory)

M*Modal Enter Key Not Working

Suddenly today when editing in M*Modal I can hit enter to get text to go to the next line, but it does not skip a line like it should for a new paragraph, and if I hit enter again at the beginning of that line it will not put in another line. It's not my enter key because it works fine in word and here.....:-) So it's within the program and I have searched and searched to try to find out what I did. I am just looking for anyone from Canada who is working for this company.  That is one of the things I don't like about M*Modal.  You are an island working for the mainland.  But there is no contact with any of the other islands.  Also you can't actually see the mainland.  You can only send mail to them. It is depressing reading about the poor treatment by some companies. I am looking for some part-time transcribing or VR editing after losing OT and no raise but health care, grocery, gas costs still rising. How are they to work for? Do you run out of work? I thought they were 2 different services.  Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows.  All the small companies have been merged I guess.  I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR.  Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

I have another question.  When one does a draft in VR, does MT get paid for all lines in the draft or would an MT get paid if it has to be edited.  I will be trying to learn this in the next few weeks and I am scared to death I will not catch on and then I might be without a job.   I have a feeling I might not get paid for the whole draft report.  Then again it may depend on the company.  Any opinions please.   Thanks  ...

Our hospital is supposed to make the decision tomorrow if they are going to keep our work in-house or outsource to M*Modal.  I want to make an informed decision when and if we are told we are going with M*Modal.  Do you get holidays?  How is the pay?  Flexible schedule?  What about our vacations that are already scheduled?  If they hire us will we still be on our same accounts? Our company recently outsourced us and we are being offered jobs w M-Modal.  I have seen all of the negative comments but I was wondering how bad the pay is.  I typed about 220 lines/hour doing straight typing and they are saying their average for voice rec is 220/lines per hour.  If that were the case you'd be making nothing!  Can anyone give me any input?  Thanks!  ...

Would appreciate feedback from anyone using M-Modal, especially Webmedx Enterprise MTs. Dreading the conversion and wondering if my fears are well founded. I'm pretty fast straight typing but rarely get more than 50 lines more an hour with current VR. Seems all it takes is just one lousy report to negate the lines made on the decent reports. Afraid it's just going to be worse with M-Modal and the whole drop-down heading thing. Anyone have any encouragement to offer? ...
