M*Modal going under? - Outahere

I heard that M*Modal is sinking fast and won't be in business much longer. Has anyone else heard this? They've been having problems getting investors and new clients, so it wouldn't come as any great shock.

Well, judging by the lack of work available the last few weeks, I would tend to agree....something is definitely going on, not that they will tell us!

So many things are wrong with that company, - it certainly wouldnt surprise me at all.

my docs use EMR and a nurse comes in at the beginning of the visits and fills in the chart and then the doc fills in the rest. I hate the practice but cost wise, obviously it is cheaper or they wouldnt be doing it.

Nope. You heard the naysayers - they are developing a strong coding department

and have hundreds of MTs in Mysore. So while you may not like their offshoring practices it does not mean the company is in trouble. They have just found a new way to profit, which does not involve US MTs. If you want to be involved with MModal I suggest you come on board as a coder because they are currently building their talent base to become the largest remote coding provider in the businesses.

we are training ourselves out of a transcription job now,,coding will happen as well..Technology has its pros and cons, just really glad I can retire at any time. Waiting for them to ax me though

relive this entire MT experience of watching a great industry slowly go entirely overseas. No thanks. One career heartbreak has been enough for me. Anything that can be done over the phone or over the internet will be done overseas for pennies on the dollar. Quality doesn't matter anymore, only big corporate profits and bonuses. It sucks but it's unfortunately true.

to last a lifetime. I'm just gonna ride this one to the point of layoff, then cruise along on UI for a while, and if still no new job opportunity arises, then take an early retirement.

Their "strong coding dept." seems to have a - pretty weak training system in place.

screw over the American workers & send the work overseas where it's dirt cheap, yet STILL manage to drive the company into bankruptcy, really doesn't need to be in charge of a business... Before they came along, the MTSOs made a killing over the years using quality American workers at good living wages.

Definitely seeing a pattern here....little to no work for over a week, now so many different clients you are constantly looking up how each one wants their reports typed, wasting even more time and getting lower line counts...and even more ESL dictators...hate to be this way, but I'm getting to the point where I don't care anymore, just leaving blanks at will if I don't understand them the first time, instead of being a perfectionist like I used to be...and then I'll get paid LESS/line for having so many blanks!

I have another question. When one does a draft in VR, does MT get paid for all lines in the draft or would an MT get paid if it has to be edited. I will be trying to learn this in the next few weeks and I am scared to death I will not catch on and then I might be without a job. I have a feeling I might not get paid for the whole draft report. Our company recently outsourced us and we are being offered jobs w M-Modal. I have seen all of the negative comments but I was wondering how bad the pay is. I typed about 220 lines/hour doing straight typing and they are saying their average for voice rec is 220/lines per hour. If that were the case you'd be making nothing! Can anyone give me any input? Would appreciate feedback from anyone using M-Modal, especially Webmedx Enterprise MTs. Dreading the conversion and wondering if my fears are well founded. I'm pretty fast straight typing but rarely get more than 50 lines more an hour with current VR. Seems all it takes is just one lousy report to negate the lines made on the decent reports. Afraid it's just going to be worse with M-Modal and the whole drop-down heading thing. Anyone have any encouragement to offer? ...

I know there are a lot of comments on here about M-modal being horrible and I have to definitely agreed, it is the only VR I have used so nothing to really compare it to but cannot do many more lines per hour than I transcribe (usually about 275 lph or so), anyone willing to share how much they do on M-modal and how long the account has been on VR? Just my curiosity since I don't seem to make any progress in increasing my lines per hour. Thanks in advance. ...

Does anyone know how an MT is compensated when they begin using M*Modal and basically editing? If paid by the line, if M*Modal creates a report consiisting of 75 lines, and you edit a few lines here and there, are you paid for the entire report (the full 75 lines) or just paid for what lines you edit? ...

I took the Tier 3 test and passed. I don't know what my actual score was, but I have a phone interview later this week, and I was wanting to get an idea of what to expect as far as working at M*Modal. I know they used to be MQ and I know there are many, MANY disgruntled current and former employees.
