I'm not familiar with a lot of the companies, but it still lists MedQuist and Express Scribe, 2 companies that I know for sure were acquired by M-Modal. Unfortunately, the list is not up to date.

It's a good place to start, and it's important for people to know to do their own research about a company because a few of them might be gone now.

There are too many inaccuracies on that list, which will result in frustration and wasted time. More than half the companies on there have either been acquired (and some as long as 5 years ago) or went under. Many other companies that are good companies and stable are not listed.

I think trying to work off that list would be a waste of time and energy.

How does one go about finding out which companies are left? I've only used this board to search job listings but is there a different one, or listing for companies still in business?

I am thinking that perhaps some of the smaller, lesser-known companies might be gone but would be the ones I would research to see if they have a viable website that is current. It's something you could do during NJA times.

I came across it and posted it because I thought it might be helpful. I was feeling bad for you all since the bad news. I didn't mean to upset anyone. I doubt there is any list that is totally current and up to date.

I think the news about this has some of us on edge so I hope you don't take it personally. The majority of us are going to appreciate and be grateful for the support so thank you again for the compassion behind your post. :)

I remember when we used to pound the pavements for work back in the day and now we pound a keyboard. Rather do that than walk all day looking for work.

And I was thinking that a cold resume might be more readily looked at than being lost in 1000s from a job ad.

I hope you find sustainable work. (ooh, I really hate that word, it's overused, but it fits here.)

Is there is quick way to add commas between items in a list? Of course, using Ctl K in front a word will change the punctuation, but it will also change a capitalized drug to lower case, and you will still have to get to the beginning of the next drug which will require 2 Ctl arrows and backspace. Ctl arrow takes you to the beginning of the next word, but you will have to backspace to put in the comma. Adding punctuation to lists is so time consuming! ...
