Any smaller transcription companies out ther - VeryTiredMT

It seems like all the "big" companies no one is happy with. Anyone know of any smaller companies that are hiring for work at home? There must be an updated list out there somewhere of transcription companies of a smaller nature, but I can't find it. Any input is appreciated.

My only problem with them was the schedule, which was Tue-Sat from 3-6 pm.

Otherwise, I think they're a wonderful company. QA is terrific. If you need to IM and can't reach one person, there's always somebody else and they are very quick with responding. -- My second QA I fell to 97.6% and rec'd a call from the president of the company, who was so nice on the phone. She stressed the importance of absolute accuracy and how important I am to the company and they don't want to lose me. I thought that was so nice. The account I am on has no VR and the ESLs weren't too bad. The platform is great. I averaged $12-16/hour, and considering the current industry I think that's really good.

NEMT is New England Medical Transcription. They're located in Woolwich, ME. The owner runs the business from her home. She has less than 300 employees. I call that small.

This used to be a career where many of us were able to ride the gravy train for awhile. Don't get me wrong, we really worked hard for our money. But, back in the day, we either had our own accounts and kept the entire cpl, or we worked for an MTSO who subcontracted to us or hired us to transcribe and we got a bigger piece of that cpl pie. Hi everyone, this is my first time on this website. Just to give you as brief a rundown as possible, I work for a hospital who has started to use Dragon and PowerNotes which, of course, eventually will mean that I will have no job. I have a friend that would like to get into doing transcription so she can stay home with her kids. She's done transcription before, but never medical. It just seems like it would save a step, as far as billing goes, the M.D. would get reimbursed more quickly. Insurance companies may even pay MTs more? Wouldn't this have substantial savings in administrative and other costs? They would not have to keep trimming back on their transcription costs by lowering the MT pay rates. ...
