Will we be paid for this? - Humff

When we run out of jobs we get paid min wage. Do you think we will get that for this. I don't want to have to make up a whole day's worth of hours or use my PTO for this.

MQ does have a downtime policy - NE MT

Remember a few years ago when the whole system crashed for 2-3 days. We were "allowed" 8 hours downtime. For 3 days! Not only did we have to use our PTO to cover the rest, but then we were expected to work like mad to get the work caught up. MQ is the cheapest ever when it comes to paying downtime, they will try every excuse not to pay it. I am sure they will try to blame this on your internet connection or something- it is never MQ fault.

My CCM says it is not MQ's fault...so we aren't. BS!!! It is a problem between MQ and Verizon. I am so pissed! AND I just called Verizon...they can't find squat about that ticket #!

did 2 tracing/ping tests to Medquist address, pings went with no problem, would not connect with MedQuist, been surfing with Verizon all night.

But I think MQ is going to screw us and say it was, and not pay. My CCM says since other people are working, that it isn't their end.

Verizon is clueless, so I am calling our support back, AGAIN.

Verizon/Comcast - I had the same problem

yesterday with Comcast. They sent pings and everything. It just would not connect to MQ DQS or MQ Central. I could surf just fine with Comcast and do everything else I wanted to do on the MQ computer and all other computers in the house.

It isn't just Verizon and Comcast. I have Brighthouse Road Runner. I am able to get on the internet for everything else, but not DocQscribe or DocQmanage..called Brighthouse and they ran "pings" and everything is fine on this end...it IS MQ's problem...yesterday I kept getting NJA and my CCM said there were jobs available for me to sign off of DocQscribe and sign back in after 15 minutes and I should get the jobs....did that.and NJA AGAIN...now I am behind on hours again this pay period and expected to make them up because MQ didn't have jobs and now it is OUR internet provider's fault that we can't connect?? I smell something rotten in Jersey!!

It all depends on your state's laws. The only time I've ever been paid for downtime in the past year or so was during the huge server crash that we had for 3 days straight. I think I got 18 hours of my old benefit rate (I'm PT).

I was on DQS this a.m. for Medquist and had problems. I also use DQS for another company and had no problems whatsoever. Just a little FYI.

I've been working with my company for almost a year now and i'm wondering if I should start looking around at other compaines. I graduated from M-Tec last summer and got a job about a month later, they started me at 0.055 cpl, then in December bumped me up to 0.06 cpl. I could really use some advice. I worked for a company for 6 months and then quit when accounts were being lost. I am owed over $3000.00 (I quit over 6 months ago). I know of 2 other ICs who worked for this company and the total owed to all of us is over $10,000. We have been given every excuse in the book. . . . we have to retype the entire VR job because it is 99% WRONG. It seems like it is getting worse instead of better. The last week practically every job has every fifth word right but the rest is wrong. At some point it quits being voice recognition and is pure transcription. There is a company who is advertising openings. I went to their website and they are offering the clients VBC at 15 cpl and comparing it to other companies who pay 65 cpl with spaces at 12 cpl. Detail. Then click on a job number and when page comes up on job view pull down, select Count Log file. THAT will show the job you are getting paid on. It will show the multiplier etc. Doesnt matter what the final line count is. That may not be what you actually did anyway. Final line count is the count they are paying you on, not necessarily the count you actually did. ...

This was posted on the wrong board, but somebody suggested MTs get paid for testing. Well it certainly would put a stop to MTs being used.
