Never paid for work done - JoAnn in Montana

I worked for a company for 6 consecutive weeks. I have yet to receive a penny from them. Tried many times to find out why and keep getting excuses that seem to change every time to contradict what had been previously said. Has anyone else ever been in a situation like this? I have never in my life had anything like this happen and I am just unsure what else to even do.

So sorry this is happening to you. Not fair, not right.

State the company name on this board to alert others. They all tend to feel the words do not get out since we work at home and thus, they just continue on. Names are allowed per board monitor.

I would go to google.com and enter your state name Montana + labor board. Report the company name. I would go further and start sending out resumes. They are obviously flakes. Keep all invoices, emails etc of you requesting payment and mail off to the state labor board (your proof)

I would send the company an email saying I need to support my family. then ask, could you go 6 weeks without payment to support yourself and family. Say I need to know when I can expect payment in order to continue.

Keep at them. If need be file small claims court report. Can google.com small claims and up comes info, what forms to print out and fill out. All it cost is filing fee, that you can also claim to be reenbursed,

The thought of some action being taken such as small claims court just might get them finding a way to pay.

Hopefully by getting the word out to everyone about these bloodsuckers, they won't be able to hire anyone and will be left with no choice to either close their doors or pay their hardworking MTs.

I've been working with my company for almost a year now and i'm wondering if I should start looking around at other compaines. I graduated from M-Tec last summer and got a job about a month later, they started me at 0.055 cpl, then in December bumped me up to 0.06 cpl. . . . we have to retype the entire VR job because it is 99% WRONG. It seems like it is getting worse instead of better. The last week practically every job has every fifth word right but the rest is wrong. At some point it quits being voice recognition and is pure transcription. Detail. Then click on a job number and when page comes up on job view pull down, select Count Log file. THAT will show the job you are getting paid on. It will show the multiplier etc. Doesnt matter what the final line count is. That may not be what you actually did anyway. Final line count is the count they are paying you on, not necessarily the count you actually did. ...

This was posted on the wrong board, but somebody suggested MTs get paid for testing. Well it certainly would put a stop to MTs being used.
