As suggested the other day, I e-mailed my TAA regional director since all I was getting from my One-Stop Career Center person & UI was that I needed a letter stating a lay off date or that there was an imminent threat of lay off.
She sent me a note, then cc'd my e-mail to my state director. Here are their responses:
Regional: You would need a qualifying separation in order to be eligible for Trade benefits as you have not been determined to be an adversely affected incumbent worker.
State: Your inquiry to USDOL Regional Office has been referred to me. In 2009 significant changes were made in the Trade Act Program. Included in those changes is that Trade certified clients no longer have to have be totally separated from the Trade affected company in order to obtain services under the Trade Act Program. However, the client would have to have an individual threat of separation from the Trade affected company.
She cc'd the local One-Stop Career Center TAA specialist who called me and said as soon as I get that letter from MQ with a lay off date or that they are going to lay me off, we are good to go.
I told her that was never going to happen. They will say they have offered me full time employment, even if it is 1/100,000 of 1 cent to wipe the sweat off the collective brows of the ILPs as they churn away at our work.
Someone said Fill out the packet - What can it hurt? I can't GET a packet. They WILL NOT give me one. I can't physically take one from them.
In the meantime, my normally placid BP of usually 110/60 is 150/90 the last 2 days.
This is BS. They built a dental clinic in my county for the "visiting labor" pool from the local chicken plants. Oh, and they also qualify for FREE education at our local community college.
I have a pounding headache. Night all.
