Question about the petition - on MoveOn

I can't find what I want to know on the site. Who's going to deliver it and to whom? What's the end-goal figure for signatures? I know the new goal on there is 200, but I can't believe whoever is in charge of it is going to stop there, are they?

Who will deliver - that depends on the site. All the petitions I have signed, the site itself delivers the petition.
To whom - That I am not sure but I do know our federal government has set rules and those can probably be found on a federal government website. The petition site folks will know where to send it.
End goal - I cannot remember the number but in order for any petition to be considered valid and able to be considered made into law, it must have a specific set number of signatures. About 30 years ago when I was taking a Government class in high school, that figure was 25,000; so, 30 years later, its probably a bit more than that. So they cannot stop at 200, which is why it is so important to spread the word. At least signatures are not limited to just MTs, we'd never get enough.
I hope I have provided enough information for you. That is the extent of my knowledge on petitions and petition websites. Hopefully, it will have at least given you a good starting point to find more definitive answers. Have a wonderful day!

Signatures topped 500 today. 4000 signatures by employees of a company got the employees the right to unionize. See the Victory section on the Moveon website. Each signer has the opportunity to download and print the petition and take it to the streets: PTA meetings, gym classes, children's afterschool activities, you name it. This is bigger than the 20,000 MTs supposedly on this site. Sure would like to know where they all are!!!

As many of you know, EMR companies charge fees upwards of 15,000 dollars to allow transcription companies to integrate with them. This barrier to entry will lead to us all being replaced by voice recognition or point and click unless we all do something. There is no reason transcriptionists can not co-exist with EMR's.
