That's using your brain Q! I love it when my superiors are boneheads. MQ's whole upper echelon needs to be removed and replaced with those that have at least half a brain and some MT experience. I bet you they all got bonuses...and raises too!! I should apply for those positions, I'm pretty good at making stupid decisions and that seems to be all you need...except maybe a friend/relative already in place. Doing the math, I lost about $50 a paycheck, which doesn't seem like much, but it's still $100 a month. That's what I use to pay my internet/phone bill.

They must want to get rid of some more transcriptionists. Remember when we were practically ordered to give up our day hours and go to afternoons/evenings? And now the afternoon work is drying up for some of us, too?

Now that there is less work for us because most of it is going to India, the only work left is late at night/early morning, and I bet they'll be pressuring us to switch to graveyard shift. This new differential is just to sweeten the pot. I think the NJA is going to keep creeping up on us even if we do go to graveyard shift, until people start quitting. Of course they want us to quit so they don't have to pay unemployment!

the suits cleverly made up for that by shortening the evening diff window by 2 hours, then reduced the night diff. Slimey.

I was looking at it from the my perspective, someone who only works until 10 pm or so in my time zone. Heck, I'd like to make .75 instead of .50 a line more, but I can't work those late night hours.

think you have the decimal point in the wrong place - .0075 - makes a difference and not a good one for us. they could have at least waited to make it effective 1/1, but I guess they enjoy being Scrooge as we didn't even get a global "Merry Xmas" on MQCentral -they don't have time for niceties -- come on karma, kick some butt!!

I don't even want to do the math to find out what I lost.

Words cannot even describe how I feel about this whole mess.

I just don't understand how we are to do 90% ASR and get a cut in pay, how we are to comply with 98% accuracy or be put on 100% QA and get a cut in pay, how we can only submit 5% QA or face getting docked and still feel like working anymore.

And now on top of it this whole shift diff pay cut. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING????

I understand it is business, but at least PRETEND TO APPRECIATE the workers who make you the billions of dollars every year. Without us they would be nothing....

I am utterly crushed. I could not work anymore after I read that email yesterday!! I don't feel like giving 100% anymore.

They must be getting some kind of 2010 tax break or have some loop hole to benefit from this shift diff going into effect in 2010 instead of waiting until the first of the year.

It really does not matter though if we got notice or not. Its all the same message to us. You do what we say...how we say it....and with what pay we give you.

It just brings moral down even further than it already is.

I know this is a stupid question, but do they realize how unfair this is to anyone but California. If you think about it, they only need to work past 6:00 p.m. to get the differential but someone on the east coast has to work past 9:00 p.m. How is that fair?

Remember the new "incentive" REPLACES the old one, where I made about 150 per month working after 6 pm. Now, I figured it will be about 1.10 a day, for a grand total of just over 10 bux a PP. Basically, nothing. And now if you work past 6 you are LOCKED in bc as soon as I got the email I called my CCM and said I want to switch to days after working night shift for 10 years, screwing up my circadian rhythm, trying to sleep during the day, but at least I made 150 extra a month....her answer. Sorry, but NO.

I just feel like there is nobody working except me. If I have problems I just forget about it because I know if I get an answer to a question it will be days later if at all. I have been looking around the boards for a bit and I see everyone complaining about working for peanuts (or less) for their MTSO. I currently work at home for a somewhat local hospital in my area. They sent all of their transcriptionists home about 6 years ago and their coders are home now too. I know that the other big hospital system in my area has all of their transcriptionsts at home too.
