I was told by one of my very seasoned MTs who was terminated by MM for not meeting line counts and went to Nuance that it was 100 times worse there, and DON'T DO IT! I'm going to steer clear.

I have worked for both, each for 2 years. Nuance is nightmarish for QA and if you end up with a really horrible supervisor it is unbearable. I started out with a fantastic supervisor and then got moved to the most evil woman on earth. I had a better schedule at Nuance, M-F days but I just was not worth it to stay.

At MModal my supervisor is fantastic, probably the best I have ever worked for in 20 years. However, I am on so many accounts it is really difficult to keep line count/quality up with so many different account specs and I now have to work evenings and weekend day.

Neither one is great and there are too many variables (supervisor roulette, schedule) to compare them. It's probably different for everyone. The edge may go to MModal just because of how truly awful FIESA is at Nuance.

Just wondering what is FIESA? What is the line count requirement at Nuance? Do they also send work overseas? Do you think they will merge someday?

FIESA is Nuance's scoring system and they look and ding you for every tiny little thing, even words like "is, a, an, etc." Their goal is to ensure you do not ever get the bonus, which is based on your FIESA scores.

The line count requirment when I worked there was 185 lph.

Yes indeed they do send work overseas. There is never any work in the evenings. They do a sun up to sun down, type of system.

No, I personally do not believe Nuance and MModal will ever merge.

mmodal also dings every an, a, is - but there is no bonus at all...

At least there is a slight chance at something! Count your blessings that you dont have the cesspool! I had 28 accounts today out of 39 jobs! Thats 28 different client profiles, and of course, not 2 reports from the same hospital in a row! I couldnt get so darn lucky!

I left MModal when they took over a company I was working for, so really I was only with them for about 2 weeks. Now I'm working for a company that Nuance is taking over. I applied for Nuance and I've been offered a job with them. They are already so disorganized. Just faxing in the paperwork to them has been a nightmare. The recruiter is scatterbrained. Rumor has it that now Nuance will purchase MModal!!! OMG... There will be no other company left. Nuance is horrible and now with joining hips with MModal it will be worse for all of us. I left MModal and now with Nuance and things are not better. MModal will just continue to ruin the industry and send everything offshore or to VR and pay us pennies for our knowledge and hard work.
