Rumor has it that now Nuance will purchase MModal!!! OMG... There will be no other company left. Nuance is horrible and now with joining hips with MModal it will be worse for all of us.

I left MModal and now with Nuance and things are not better. MModal will just continue to ruin the industry and send everything offshore or to VR and pay us pennies for our knowledge and hard work.

I am tired of sitting around waiting for work only to now be told that MModal will most likely be taken over by Nuance. Isn't this illegal?

When a company files bankruptcy they are - not out of business. MModal

is attempting to restructure debt coming due. Nuance would not purchase a company with that much debt. I wouldn't be suprised if Nuance isn't much farther behind them with their acquisitions and growing too rapidly. If things work correctly, Mmodal could come out the other end much stronger than before. If not, well ... it would be the end I guess, but I don't believe for a second Nuance would touch that with a 10 foot pole.

Kind of thought that would happen when JPMC took control of MM over a year ago. The aquisition of Spheris seemed to put a drain on their profits? That could also happen to NTS acquiring a company that is $480 million in the hole and all the problems associated with BR/BK.

As you probably have already read on the MM board about the coding thing that is going on now and all the frenzy to be a coder and all of a sudden work for the "best" company ever! Yeah right. I am just wondering if MM is dumping its transcription portion and keeping just coders? Either way, it spells disaster for everyone. I worked for M*M and literally had to find something else and quit. I just couldn't take it. When your heart starts to pound every time you get an e-mail it is time to go, which I did and never looked back. I applied at Nuance and then after reading the posts decided against it and told the recruiter that was the reason why; too many negatives, like they care. So to all of you hanging in the balance, either get out or good luck, cuz it ain't going to be pretty! :o(

You can stop spreading the rumor. It's just that. It will never happen.

Nuance can't afford M*modal first off.

Second, if you read any of the recent information about MModal, they are breaking into pieces. If they can find a way for document creation profitable, they will not be letting go.

Nuance has its own headaches right now. Stop spreading rumors.

spreading rumors you know nothing about. I think Nuance struggles with their own issues right now and since they often mimic Mmodal, who knows they may be watching and get the idea next to be in line for bankruptcy protection. Chapt 11 bankruptcy does not put a company out of business.

The maor shareholder of a company (or owner) can be foreign and still have an American Corporation filed with the Secretary of State. So they can still file chapter 11 bankruptcy and screw the creditors.

I'm a Nuance employee and know that our companies are constantly competing to be the biggest and (probably) cheapest out there. The pay is rotten just like everywhere else, but I have always been treated with complete respect by my bosses and co-workers. According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

MModal asks for your SS# on the application process of applying for jobs there!!! Thanks to some of you, I ran ran ran from this place. Why is MModal posting job openings, when so many of use are running out of work or worse falling into the pool--what with the pay cuts, VR being paid half even though it takes nearly as long to edit most reports, and the fact that I only get my "primary" accounts about 30% of the time and the rest of the time I am typing from the pool so that nearly every report that comes up is a new facility or dictator, I have gone from making $16 an hour to minimum wage.
