Pay cuts. See inside message - FYI
Posted: Jul 11, 2011
I think it is time for some complaints to state and federal labor boards. It is ILLEGAL for the Q to cut us to below the Federal minumum wage.
Waste of time. They aren't cutting below the federal minimum wage, as they - Kiki

have to pay you at least minimum wage even if you don't make that.
Having said that, minimum wage is NOT an acceptable level of pay for MTs, who are required to have SKILLS. Not just anyone off the street can do this.
MEDQUIST SUCKS!!!!!
You got that right. - Pay cuts.

I find it apalling that someone with the skills we have to have and the knowledge we are required to constantly keep updating to be paid less and valued much less than someone (usually someone without a high school diploma) standing at a window saying "would you like some fries with that". The Wally-Mart greeters make more than I do!

What I would really like to know is this: Are transcription companies reducing the fees they charge their clients in order to keep the accounts? Or are they just getting fatter and richer by the day, thanks to us and the incredible shrinking paycheck? Anyone out there know the inside scoop?

Believe it or not, I receieved a "magazine" in the mail with an advertisement in it for another transcription company, supposedly all U.S., no outsourcing. I contacted them about the pay and it is LESS than we are now getting, even with the pay cuts, than we are making with Medquist. Somehow this is just not right!!! I can't believe there is nothing than can be done with these companies. Wish I could just quit but that is just not possible right now, just have to hang in there!

I personally wish I had never become an MT. I am going to check and see if there is something I can do at a hospital until I retire! I am sure the pay will be better!
During this procedure, the ovary was nicked and chocolate s/l auger _____ fluid was released. This was suctioned. Careful tedious dissection was done until the ovary was completely released. Even though the ovary did drain a small amount of chocolate s/l auger ____ endometrioma fluid into the pelvis, the majority of the ovary was still filled. Then using the 12 mm port, ...
What would be the difference in taking a Medical Coding Program such as Andrews or AHIMA offers, versus taking THIS BELOW that Herzing offers. I see Herzing says Insurance coding.
So career wise, what is really the difference between being a Coder and an insurance coder? Is there any difference in the job, the pay, etc?
I have a Pell grant and you see, Andrews and AHIMA do not accept it.

Someone asked that I start a new thread on this subject so it does not get buried regarding a job posting I received (and others also). Below is the link to my original post if it does get buried. If anyone wants to know the company....and I will post it here if that is allowed...you can contact me by email. Otherwise, perhaps the monitor will advise whether I can post the company name. I do not have a good feeling about this outfit. I have not posted all the conten ...
My job is extremely stressful these days b/c of constant threatening e mails to the whole team by our manager.
I really don't want to look at e mails anymore. They are making me feel really bad about the job. But the work itself is good and the pay is minimum wage (of course). So I can't quit. I am thinking about not looking at e mails.
Has anyone been able to continue working without getting in trouble by not reading e mails. What is the longest you hav ...

when it comes to docking your pay, and docking our pay is now the law of the Nuance landscape, sending reports to QA, etc. I have seen nothing or heard anything good, including during the conference call.
Did you agree to this new and exciting plan~~~in writing? The link below, as long as the title may be, is from U. S. News and World Report.
Wonder if Nuance had their lawyers look at what they are doing?

So, since we have gone to nearly all ASR, and have taken a pay cut of 40% basically, I think it's time that burden be shared by all employees equally. I think it's time we hear that ALL employees have received a decrease in pay over what they made say 5 years ago. I will even be fair, since we have the CHANCE to make it up in production supposedly, and say just cut salaried employees pay by 25% instead of 40%, just so we can all be in this together.
Before anybody ...

I saw posts on here about Medscribe pay cuts and really didn't believe it until it happened to me. They lost their 2 biggest accounts, so what do you do, you cut the employees' pay who were bringing in the income. I only know of the one account they lost because it happened to be the one I worked on and my income went literally to 0. THEN when they finally decided to put me on another account, they cut my pay. Stick a fork in me. Once again, the greed in t ...
Wondering if anyone has thoughts on this subject. My state does allow filing for UNDERemployment due to wage cuts. However, in the past when my employer was bought out and wages were cut, I did not realize this was an option. If it should happen in the future, does the employee just decline the offer of a job from the new company and then is fired and then file for under-employment or take the job and file for under-employment? I doubt they would lay you off. Thanks ...
