PTO rollover to next year - TAKE IT NOW MMEs!!

I had asked previously asked about PTO hours that could be rolled over to the next year. I got an answer of 40 hours if MT/MME, but someone else posted something that was just stuck in the back of my head. I too had lost hours that I "rolled over" previously for a big vacation (it is still a family joke to this day). On looking further found the below in the employee manual (HR section on MQ Central):

MMEs who were formerly Quality Assurance Specialists as of June 30, 2009 and who moved to the full-time Master Medical Editor role on July 1, 2009 accrue vacation in accordance Paid Time Off Policy 01-03-007.001 These vacation hours may not be carried over from one calendar year to the next unless your state of residence specifically prohibits forfeiture of unused time. Please consult the Paid Time Off Policy 01-03-007.001 for specific guidelines. These individuals will continue to be granted 3 sick days on January 1

May want to take some vacation days!

Well it would be nice if I had some PTO to actually be concerned about. Since I'm barely making minimum wage as an MME with Medquist I have to cash out my PTO account every single pay period to supplement my pay check so my son and I won't end up homeless.

I haven't had PTO in my account for years.

So MTs/MEs can still roll over? - Just not MMEs?

I wish they would speak normal english in these things. From what I took from it was that MMEs that were former QA specialists and moved to an MME when they were doing the MME/QA transition a couple years ago are affected as QA, who were paid hourly, accrued PTO differently than an MME, who is paid by production. Does this include new MMEs?

If you are in California, you can accumulate more than 40 hours PTO, but different states have different laws, MQ must abide by the prevailing law in the state of your residence.

Ive never not given a notice, but I interviewed today and might get the job. You all know the deal, I just can't afford to work here and they want to fill the position Im trying for immediately.
