Another year of Benchmark - justanotherMT

Medquist is very close to signing up for yet another year of Benchmark. So very few people use it and the corporate people are trying to find out why. Seriously. I wonder if they will listen this year when we tell them that we don't want it, don't use it and it is a colossal waste of money. I already let my CCM know why I will never sign up for AHDI, I mean Benchmark. Some of us old timers have a bad taste in our mouth over the lawsuit settlement and money going to AHDI instead of back to the employees and Benchmark was one of the "prizes" offered. But the newer people I have no clue. If you use it and love it I would love to hear why.

I use Benchmark for the drug information and some word searching but mainly for the drug information. I like it.

Well at least we don't have to pay for Benchmark so in that respect I figure I am lucky MQ is providing it to me. If it is provided at no charge to me then I am a happy camper!

Medquist underpaid its MTs for years and when they finally got caught they were able to weasel out of returning the money by "donating" to AHDI. AHDI then turned around and offered Benchmark as part of the settlement. You may think it is free, but to me it is blood money stolen from me and countless other MTs, plus it is a huge tax break for MQ.

I found this website on google and they say they will provide you with the book of style v.3, and stedman's medical spellchecker along with lots of other references electronically for a membership fee of $200/year. Let me know if anyone has heard of them or is acquainted with their reputation. ...

I know we have to install and whatever, and there are all of these steps, and I really do not want anything else on this old MQ computer to slow it down more. I am pretty content with the sites I go to and really don't want to learn another program. It is telling me unathorized and use correct form. Using ADP # and password Medquist, but not working. I am able to log into Benchmark KB with my ID and password from the settlement, but there is no drug reference and stedmans on that one. Please let me know if anyone can help.
