OMG - DQS7 training - anon

Our region is scheduled to start DQS7 in a couple weeks, and we were required to watch the training video - way ahead of our start time.
I don't think I'll be able to do this!! They talk about keystrokes I've never heard of, the fonts in the demo were so small I could barely read anything, They talked about pushpins I never did find!
Is this as awful as it looks? Getting nervous.
I thought it was a little intimidating at first - because it was different,

[ In Reply To ..]Been on DQS 7 about 2 months. I watched the tutorials probably 5 times because I was so confused. Then I went into fear mode about what was in store. However, when I actually started the program, I found that the most significant change was in visual the appearance of the screen, which took a couple of hours to get used to (it is not small like in the tutes), and the program functioned just about the same as DQS6. Yes, there are some new commands, but a lot are still the same.
A couple of nice features is that you now can change the size and style of the font to whatever you want. (whole list of choices under the Tools menu). The style and size is only seen on your end, not on the client's end.
Also, I no longer have to do an ADT search as the info populates when job downloads. There are no longer any redundant or skip markers to deal with. You just delete whatever text you need to take out. AND, the job waiting shows the dictator name now.
I would say that by day 2 I was as comfortable using it as the old program.

[ In Reply To ..]I have been on Doc7 for a few months now and it gets easier every day. If you are unsure about which keystroke does what press your Alt key and look for the underlined letter. That was a nice feature they added. After awhile your brain and fingers will remember what you keystrokes you need to search or upload and your mouse will get dusty from not being used. A lot of the keystrokes are the same and if you ever get stuck there is always F1 that gives a list. Just trying learning a few every day or just try to spellcheck and upload without using your mouse and then the next day try adding a cc or inserting ADT info. It takes practice, but you are not learning a whole new software program, just the tweaks and upgrades they added to it.
When doing an ASR report, I find the mouse to be faster. Keystrokes - are faster for straight MT tho.

You would think they might have learned by now not to make any announcements until all the kinks are worked out but no, not MQ. Yet the MTs have to be 99% accurate. I have a problem quite often, both in ASR when correcting or straight typing, where for some reason, the text from one line will drop to the next line when it clearly hasn't gotten to the end of the line I'm typing on...leaving only 1/2 line of text. Log into MModal email. Hover over Departments Click on Human Resources On left side of screen choose Learning and Development Then choose MT/ME. Then choose Training. I have 1/2 the required RAM, told by a microsoft website techie through a Serv Man ticket that DQS7 has shown to work OK with 890 RAM instead of 2. Back from vacation. Logged into the new 7 version - would not work. Tried a few times. Called Support. 1-1/2 hours - no luck - they will contact Advanced Support. Will try again tomorrow. In DQS6, where the screen color was determined by what you set Windows colors, I had a nice pale green which is very easy on the eyes. And what's up with the dark grey highlight for SR!?
