A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
ARH employees are kicking up a fuss and they have their Union involved. They also do not seem to believe the company's usual propiganda. We should have had a union for years. The link to the article is below. I really hope their union is able to help (and possibly bring MM to their knees). I would like to see at least some reckoning here. Karma, you gotta love it.
There seems to a problem with the link showing up, not sure why, so here is the article and the link as it was a news story and there is video.

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Next month, Appalachian Regional Healthcare will begin outsourcing some of its non-medical positions.
The outsourcing affects about three dozen ARH medical transcription and editor positions.
The hospital system offered its employees work-from-home positions with a company called M*Modal.
"Former employees of ARH all were offered full-time employment with M*Modal, with comparable or greater compensation and a sign-on bonus," said Julius Pearson, JD, SPHR, ARH System Director of Human Resources - Employee and Labor Relations.
The workers could also bid for other positions within ARH.
The United Steelworkers, which represents the employees, says the move violates the existing collective bargaining agreement and puts workers at a disadvantage.
"They don't want to lose their union, they don't want to lose the benefits that they currently have and they want to stay in the hospital working," said USW Staff Representative Terry Sims.
Union representatives plan to sit down and discuss the new arrangement with hospital officials Thursday.
While no work stoppages are anticipated, union representatives say they have filed complaints with the National Labor Relations Board.
"I would hope that the board would rule in the union's favor and cite the company that they have indeed violated the agreement," Sims said.
ARH says the deal keeps good-paying jobs here in the mountains.
"This is stable employment in their field of choice with the largest provider of transcription services in the world," said Pearson.
The change will go into effect across ARH's ten hospital system sometime next month.
ARH representatives say the transition will not disrupt the quality of patient care.
