Medquist test? Anyone? - anon

I took a test for Medquist about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back. Not so sure I would accept a job w/ them anyways, but I really wanted to know if I passed their test! Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe I am just an undesireable candidate....????

After I tested, I gave it a couple of days then e-mailed and called the recruiter. They just get busy and, sadly, MTs get lost in the shuffle. As it turned out, I did great on the test and was hired. If you are truly interested, take action and contact them.

Before you go to work for them, do a good background check on them, especially regarding the transcriptionists' lawsuit of several years ago. Of course we didn't win because they had the best lawyers in the world. Really, really consider if you want to work for these people before you sign up. Good luck whatever you choose.

but I didn't bother googling it bc it sounded like the above MT was referring to a specific situation that was discussed on here. I am aware of the function of google.

ADHI stepped in and offered to be the go-between between MQ and the MTs,taking the cash instead and offering books and courses and Benchmark, so who really won here? AHDI of course. MQ should have cash compensated their MTs they frauded just like they paid Kaiser. The sad thing is the MTs don't really know how much MQ frauded them because the line counting practices were so dishonest. I do know that no class or book in any way makes up for the money MQ stole from me and other MTs. So now I don't think we won at all.

I had a sneaking suspicion that they were tweaking my line rates but when I asked my CCM (in 2003) about this, she said she was sure that wasn't happening. My line count kept dropping so I did a check on the Internet and found this site, where there were many, many other MTs complaining of the same thing. The Q was taking advantage of our lack of communication amongst ourselves, all working at home, and using their own program which they tweaked at will. I also discovered 2 MTs started a class action suit with lawyers based in Atlanta, Georgia. A paralegal called me and I told her my story. She said it sounded exactly like the other MTs she interviewed. Knowing what my line rate was in 2003, through the time they tweaked the line count through the end of that lawsuit, I calculated I lost $70,000. Imagine a company having to pay that back to all the MTs. They admitted to the wrong-doing, but "settled" with a tiny fraction of what they actually stole from us by paying a small lump sum to AHDI, thinking it would make them look good. The verdict was unjust IMO. How they get away with stealing all of our money I just can't understand. And, yes, I do have a chip on my shoulder. Every time I deny myself anything I could have afforded with my 2003 income, I blame it on the Q. Don't even ask what I've done to fight back, get other jobs, etc., as it's a whole other can o' worms.

After failing the Medquist test in September 2009, they just e-mailed me today saying Medquist - Eligible to Retest. Just a few hours later, I got another e-mail saying "Employment Update - Medquist. I took the Medquist test again today, but I don't expect the perfection they seem to demand. I actually got an RLP (real live person) at Medquist to speak to me about testing 2 weeks ago. She was a little help. She said they have 1,000 take the test monthly so no wonder they are not interested in any particular transcriptionist. I suspect, though, that only 20/1000 pass it.
