MedQuist Re-Test - sefrost53

Hello! 3 months ago I tested for MedQuist and...FAILED!!! However, I have just been notified that I am now eligible for re-testing. Has anybody out there been through this? Has anyone ever scored >98% on their first try? If not, how about their second try?

Go take the test... Hire on for the whopping 3 cpl, take my job from me, dont meet your line counts cause of the crazy hard dictators and 99% quality (even though you cannot pass a 98% open book test), and then get fired. That leaves an open position for INDIA.

There are always some people on this board and in life who spew negativity wherever they go. Just take the information on this board and use what you can and let the rest go, don't let anyone upset you. As far as retesting with MedQuist or any other place, just remember that you only need one job to start out with. I would suggest testing with everyone who will let you test as this will help build your testing skills, expose you to more test situations and you will probably eventually wind up with a job. Once you get a job, get your experience in and move on to other pasture you think would be a better fit for you.

As an aside, I tested once with MedQuist and failed. I didn't think I failed, but they did. They did send me an offer to retest some time later, but by then I had my first MT job, it has been five years and I am still with them.

About MQ. They are a horendous company. I worked there for 11 years and recently, about 4 months ago, got a job at an awesome company. I would never work for MQ again if they were the last company on earth. If I had any enemies, I wouldn't wish them on them either. Test for anyone else, but not them. They keep hiring people, but they don't even have enough work for their existing employees. I was never so miserable in my life then the last year with the Q. Just move on....you will not be sorry. All the negativity on the MQ board is true.

I once worked for MedQuist and this is not an uncommon practice to be recalled to test again. They even tell you that if you do not pass the first test then you can retest again in 3 months, and they do it all the time. I would take a chance and retest again..a lot of people don't do well on a first test, so good luck!!

I truly appreciate your feedback. I think I will indeed test again; I know I didn't take my time on the first one, kind of hurried through it, didn't do enough research, etc. But I'll give it another, a better, go!

After you get hired, and in a few months you cannot maintain line counts, or send to much to QA and get your pay docked by 3 cpl, or when you send more than 5% to QA, or when you dont meet 99% accuracy on every job you type, and they micromanage you to the point of you would rather stab a pencil in your own eye than get up and work here.... DO NOT SAY YOU HAD NO IDEA HOW BAD IT COULD GET!

DAmn! I believe the stuff you're all telling me about MQ, but I have heard some good feedback too; well, semi-good. I think this MT Stars forum is so cool, the way everybody watches everybody else's back and helps each other along. I've never experienced anything like this before in any other field. Very cool! I have several other places to test for, I may just skip MQ.

Yes. I went to their office and was tested in a noisy area and a Fedex delivery guy even came over and tried to deliver a package to me. So no one was even cared if I was disturbed or not. I scored over 90% and that wasn't good enough so I feel your pain. I sent them a letter complaining but they didn't care. I'd move on.

After failing the Medquist test in September 2009, they just e-mailed me today saying Medquist - Eligible to Retest. Just a few hours later, I got another e-mail saying "Employment Update - Medquist. I took the Medquist test again today, but I don't expect the perfection they seem to demand. I actually got an RLP (real live person) at Medquist to speak to me about testing 2 weeks ago. She was a little help. She said they have 1,000 take the test monthly so no wonder they are not interested in any particular transcriptionist. I suspect, though, that only 20/1000 pass it. If I ran MedQuist: Pay Rate: No Tier 1, 2, 3. All MQ MTs would have to be Tier 3 and paid as such. Starting off at 9cpl with cost of living increases.
