Medquist people - if you're leaving, drop the docs you type for sm - Just J

Posted: Mar 02, 2010

an email, a letter, anything, let them know what MQ is doing with THEIR patient's reports.  I guarantee you, they will be furious that they are now basically forcing you to guess what you don't know...I think they'll take it up with their administration and MQ will lose a lot of customers.  But if you don't do it, they'll never know.  Do you really think MQ would tell them that's what they're doing?

Medquist trying to cut QA costs? (sm) - Long time MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Is MQ trying to free up funds, by cutting back on costs, so they can buy Spheris?

Guessing! Yeah, there's a lawsuit in the wings there.

Uhh, I think not. MQ could slam you hard on a lawsuit and - probably would. Leave their clients alone. nm

nm

Then we could "slam" them with a nice little expose on - national television. I know I"d watch!

.

But my husband, kids, parents, neighbors, friends - sure as heck can say something!

[ In Reply To ..]
No problem there!

medquist people.... - catherine

[ In Reply To ..]
gee...how could your children, husband, neighbors say anything about MQ unless YOU broke confidentiality and told them things you should not? When I worked for MQ there was a contract about confidentiality and that included practically everything...the department of justice could not bring MQ down...do you really think you can? No offense and I agree with you...but I don't know the answer for transcriptionists these days...we are most definitely screwed. I am pretty sure that organized crime is not this nefarious...I could be wrong...but I think MQ is worse....and they are not the only company either.
Easy! My husband pays the bills. - Wants to know my paycheck is way down.
[ In Reply To ..]
I am not saying ANYTHING ABOUT PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY. Has nothing to do with HIPAA. Has not nothing to do about patient information. Has nothing to do about clients.

Has to do with what MQ is doing to me, my health, my paycheck, my stress. ALL TRUE FACTS.

After all, the reason I go into the doctor is because of stress from my job and what they are doing.

MedQuist Slap ME WITH A LAWSUIT??? - SecondWind

[ In Reply To ..]
After they bankrupt you, their lawsuits don't mean much. After their 'generous employee compensation package' bankrupts you, what would they have to gain from suing you and what would you have to lose? NOTHING. They ruin any financial stability you may have looked foward to during the course of your employment with them. So now they're firing everbody. I guess they have finally gotten to a point where they can comfortably take all transcription out of the US and safely ship it to distant places.

I recall that sham of a class action allegedly filed by and for MedQuist's severely underpaid and purposely wrongly paid MTs by means of line count manipulation. The MTs were awarded something like a million dollars, not one dollar of which was actually awared to MTs. (Whats a million dollars to MedQuist anyway? What a victory for MQ.) They will not be so lucky the next time they set foot in a courtroom. They are too slick and cunning to initiate a lawsuit against an MT, and if they did, it's time to start screaming like the stuck pigs they treat us like. It will not behoove them to do so.

I actually would be more fearful of them employing a professional hit man to get back at you.

Well, that "hit man" thing can go both ways, ya know. - Stranger things have happened.

[ In Reply To ..]

I would not go there, either. Too risky. - Way too risky.

[ In Reply To ..]
MQ actually got the employees between a rock and a hard spot. You can't say anything about anything without getting yourself in big trouble.

Too Risky??? - SecondWind

[ In Reply To ..]
I too felt like MQ had me between a rock and a hard place or as I like to jokingly say 'Iraq and Iran.' I liken MQ to Al Capone and/or Bugsy Moran, ruthless and no one to take lightly. However, enough is enough. After one has been quashed and squashed to the point of desperation, bravery sets in. I'm ready for a fight, because I'm right, I am not trying to hurt anyone, and I am going to win.

Absolutely. What is there left to lose, except the chains - that shackle us to our desks? nm

How Many People Have Left Or Are Leaving
Jul 18, 2013

I am curious to know the rate of turnover right now. I gave notice this week. Anybody who has done so in the last several weeks or who plans to in the near future please raise your hand. Then, I can do some statistics and try to figure out how the rate of turnover is speeding up... just interested to see if recent bad atmosphere, bonus loss, and so forth has changed the rate of people leaving. You can post a comment or just hit like. I will begin. I quit this week. ...

QC Leaving?? Leaving More Work For MTs?
Jun 14, 2015

Sorry QC was put on the grid and suffering losses (like we have), but from my point of view the more of them leave, the more work left for us.  Isn't that horrible we are reduced to feeling that way about our co-workers??? Some QC say they are not allowed to do MT unless the account is behind, some say they are allowed when they run out of work.   From the length of time we have been suffering from OOW I have to believe they can and do jump in on our work when out of QC ...

People Skills For Work-at-home People

I have been at home working full time for about a year.  I have been an MT longer, but I always had kept a job outside of the home also because I like interaction with other.  I have found that I am starting to lose my people skills.  Do others have this same problem?  It is like I have forgotten how to really be able to hold a conversation with others.  This is something that really bothers me as I have always loved customer service and working with people and main ...

VR Pay....is It Customary To Drop The Cpl AND....sm
Apr 18, 2011

decrease the weight of a line when paying VR.  For example, if you edit 2000 lines in a day, is it customary for the company to ask you to multiply that by 0.70 for a total of 1400 lines because they are VR and not straight transcription as well as pay you half your transcription line rate?  Does everyone do this?  I am finding VR to be much more intense and demanding than straight transcription and this seems like a double whammy to me! ...

Can You Drop To PT (30 Hours) From FT At Any Time?

Any Other MMEs Have A Significant Drop In ILP Work?
Apr 25, 2012

I'm guessing either the huge group of hospitals (I think they're like the walmart of hospitals) dropped them because they were awful, or they're trying to keep costs low and are having ILPs do their own QA, which will be a disaster.  Since I see the USA side of that hospital group still pop up once in awhile, I'm guessing its the latter.   Pretty much the ILP QA department may as well be nonexistent.  I see just as many errors on work that goes through th ...

Why I Plan To Drop My AHDI Membership
Aug 15, 2012

This week has been the turning point for me. As I was thinking about all of the presenters and debaters at ACE this year, they had one thing in common. They were all selling or promoting something.  Then there were the MTSOs, who are the problem rather than the solution, but put in the position of lecturing to us. I can delete the e-mail promotions, but when you pay to go to a conference, you don't expect it to be full of sales promotions. Each presenter had an agenda, but it wasn ...

I've had a huge drop in work at Landmark for the past 3 months.  I've been there for 3 years working on the same account the entire time.  I've looked at my paychecks during these same exact months for the past years and I had much bigger paychecks, meaning much more work.  Here it is a weekend and I had hardly any work yesterday and so far no work today and this account always had work.  It's been this way for almost 4 months.  Anyone work on the big account that starts ...
