How many people have left or are leaving - MT

I am curious to know the rate of turnover right now. I gave notice this week. Anybody who has done so in the last several weeks or who plans to in the near future please raise your hand. Then, I can do some statistics and try to figure out how the rate of turnover is speeding up... just interested to see if recent bad atmosphere, bonus loss, and so forth has changed the rate of people leaving. You can post a comment or just hit like. I will begin. I quit this week.

Failing audits right and left with nitpicking galore. Old supervisor, who was fired last October, says come on down; there is an opening for you; she is happy with the company where she works now. Stayed up until 3 AM last night applying. Hopefully can hang in there until I get started with my new job.

Good call, as bad as MModal is - Nuance is far, far worse

Work for both, so I know the ins and outs of both and just based on the QC/QA alone, MModal is the better choice. Holiday pay is better at MModal too (for July 4th I made an extra $15 at Nuance and at MModal made an extra $45-worked same number of hours at both).

I am not saying MModal is good, it is just far less "bad" than Nuance.

doesn't this place wonder why it's a revolving door? You'd think they would want to keep their employees - not have to constantly train people who only stick around until they can find something better.

I put in my notice two days ago, so I will be gone soon. Funny thing is my shift used to have a lot of work, mostly ESL dictators. Now that I have given notice, I only had 3 jobs the night I told TL that I was leaving and 1 job last night. The dictator for these 4 jobs is one of the most difficult, so now I am glad I'm almost done with this place!

Dh got a new job, which will give us about an extra $600 a month. Next May another bill that is $475/month will be taken care of. Need to catch up on some deferred maintenance and increase savings a little bit and then I will just quit transcribing for good.

I figured out this morning I can semi-retire in 2 years 8 months. I probably won't, but I can, thanks to my departed D/H. I can't believe I've been working for 42 years. I think I'm going to be in a terminal good mood for awhile.

when Transcend was making the final transition. Was going to hang in to see what it was like because I liked my primary and TL but couldn't get answers to the simplest questions. Thought if this was any indication of future communication decided to just let it go. Sounds like from what I read here now was the right decision. I think there were several others on my team who quit around the same time or before, and I imagine there were many more who probably don't even come here anymore. Can't believe the stuff I read here that you guys have gone through although don't know if you were in a merge/buy-out or with N from beginning. Good luck!

I quit at the end of June after doing MT work for 10 years. If I want to only make minimum wage I can do it some place where I'm appreciated and not constantly being nagged.

Wow, a lot so far, the statistics are through the roof. If I could figure out how many do not know about this board, and put a percentage on top of this, I'd say loads of people are leaving...too bad this place does not know how to manage people, we'd all be able to stay. Unfortunately, it is what it is. I only hope the new people hired on now realize what they are getting into...

The funniest part is, those under 30 will not stay to be exploited as long as the old hats. They cash out and move on to something else right away, because unlike those of us who have been in the industry longer they are not trapped in this golden handcuff career.

Best thing to ever happen to me. I work for a smaller company that treats me well. Nuance bullies you. You will NEVER make bonus, you're better off buying lottery tickets. Riki Tiki and his brothers over in India make bonus off of Nuance MTs NOT making bonus.

Raising hand! I am planning on giving notice in the very near future. ASAP. Can't wait but do have mixed feelings. Like so many others I love transcription and the unknown is scary. I just can't take being made to feel like a robot any longer or the constant TSM complaining/nagging emails, not to mention this job no longer pays the bills. What this company has done to the carer of the MT is deplorable. I am disgusted by the way they conduct their business. I imagine how good it will feel to write that giving notice email! What a relief that will be.

I was offered a job at Precyse...I really want to take it...I have been weighing the pros and cons about Nuance (I have been with Nuance first when it was Transcend for 2 years now) and I have to say I don't see not ONE positive comment on this board about Nuance anymore..should I take this as a sign?

I just accepted a job at Precyse and after I saw the offer letter and the benefits, it was just a huge sigh of relief. Of course, it will be a new account and new platform, but what else is new.. And best part, is no more FIESA and no more nasty TSM. PLus getting to pick my days off!!! To be treated like an adult.. amazing!

Sorry QC was put on the grid and suffering losses (like we have), but from my point of view the more of them leave, the more work left for us. Isn't that horrible we are reduced to feeling that way about our co-workers??? Some QC say they are not allowed to do MT unless the account is behind, some say they are allowed when they run out of work. From the length of time we have been suffering from OOW I have to believe they can and do jump in on our work when out of QC ...

Just wanted to add my voice to the growing chorus of long-timers leaving the Q finally. The account I worked on for 15 years just up and vanished Monday - without a word to any of us. I applied for, and got, a job offer within minutes of sending my resume. I know MQ has beaten us all down over the years, but there are actually other companies and people who appreciate our abilities and stamina to say with such a company for so many years in spite of it all :) ...

Curious, as to those getting out of MT, where are you going? I am soooo dissatisfied with this profession today. My wages are half what they were hourly only 4 years ago (VR for me is not profitable). The account specs get more and more complicated and you have to work on at least 5 or 6 accounts to keep work. That just seems weird. I get if it's supposed to be mcg and you put mg, something doctors often do in their dictation, but leaving off the mg, 3.0?
