Just got the call from my CCM that i will be moving to new acct saying there is more work there but when i look at backlog summary, not even 1 job for that account. not sure if this is the last step before i get kicked out.

Confront the CCM with the info. - dnr

Is there also no work in your old account too? Backlog showed the lowest amount of work I have seen - as low as major holidays.

a friend has been working for new company 9 months now. He's made 3 demographic errors, the doctor input the wrong doctor code, but it counted against him (transcriber) for not catching it. They said his next one is termination. Is this normal for most companies? Kind of harsh since considering we aren't being paid to be responsible for their errors.

Regardless of what the doctor "punches" in, they usually will dictate the name and birthdate of the patient. You have to verify that you are working on the correct file, otherwise the patient info goes in the wrong chart, which is a huge HIPAA violation.

We are responsible for creating an accurate record, so regardless of the doctor's "errors" we have to check for stuff like that. I know the platforms I have worked on have made it pretty easy to check. Not so easy to change necessarily, but easy to check, so there's really no excuse for not catching it. If it can't be changed then it needs to get flagged and sent to QA.

One time, maybe, but three times? Sorry, but that's just sloppy.

I am considering requesting this pay which (depending on the state) considers us to be on-call and must be paid for part of our shift if no work. I have had it up to here with Nuance and running out of work, adding more and more accounts and STILL no work. Got a second job and STILL being screwed by Nuance in the sense that I cannot rely on my first job (income wise), because when there is enough work they manage to screw my cpl with their lovely FIESA, then as soon as I have no errors the work ...

I'm not very happy with my current company due to the loss of several benefits, cost of living pay, etc. and thought about checking out some larger companies, but after reading posts for a lot of major companies, I think I'll stay where I am. At least I have work 90% of the time and I'm paid 8 to 9 cents per line. The grass isn't always greener. :)   ...

I, too, was one of the "account specific victims" at SoftScript.  I was fired for a QA score of 90%.  This score was from 100% account specific errors (same error over and over in four different reports).  Rather than counting one formatting or specific error, they dinged me over and over, making my QA score 90.4%.   My question is, when applying for future jobs, if they call SS for a reference, will they tell them that my QA score was that low?  I have never in my 20 y ...

This is probably rumor mill, hopefully.  However, I just came across something via Google and wanted to check it with those of you who have been around MQ longer than a couple of weeks.  I just read a blip that said MQ has been slowly raising demands and lowering pay because they are gradually moving all MT business to the outsource venues in India.  Any comments?? Need Help Moving Favorites To New Computer

My old computer's hard drive is dying quickly. I need to move all my favorites/bookmarks  from the old one to the new one. I've tried import and Export and it doesn't work. I tried copying the favorites to a CD-ROM but don't know how to get them onto the new computer. I've spent all morning searching for the answer and trying to move them over to no avail. I tried coping the files from the CD-ROM to the new computer and supposedly it worked but I'll be durned ...

Hello,  I work for a local cardiology group and we use Nuance with Dragon (EXtext). I was wondering if there is a way to have the cursor move along automatically while I have the foot pedal down so I do not have to take my right hand off the keyboard to move the cursor with the right arrow button. If there is a way that would allow me to cut down on a lot of errors I am making by having to keep moving my right hand from the arrow back to the keyboard.  Thanks   ...

I am starting a new acct tomorrow.  I sure hope I dont have to go through training.  We never have been trained on the cesspool that we get, we just get new accts when our regular work is caught up, so why do we need training on a new account?  That is ridiculous.  MQ, please just let me work and make a living.  Stop with all this changing CCMs and assigning new accts.  This coming pay check I probably will have 2 days on it if that much.  Geez.. ...

I'm on accts that do not allow any blanks at all through to the cliient.  ALL blanks must go to QA.  I haven't ever worked on an acct that would not even allow one blank to the client.  Anyhow, might not would be so bad but the dictators are TERRIBLE!  Many ESLs also.  Combine no blanks allowed with terrible dictators = sending more to QA.  That means docked pay if 5% or more.  Oh, and don't let me forget, no samples yet.  So you have to ho ...
