if someone from management come to this site to defend this MTSO and its policies. I don't work for MM, but from the posts here, they have significant problems among their staff and at some point will have trouble recruiting new employees. I would be reluctant to work for this MTSO based on this site and ratings in other places. MM, do you have a defense?

MM doesnt need to defend themselves. Their policies are what they are. Dont - like em, dont work for MM. Easy Peasy. nm

When you are promised things by a recruiter, quit another job. Go through training that makes this look like a wonderful place, and then hit the job pool...I am sick of learning new platforms. I actually like docqmanage for a lot of reasons (not ASR) I am sticking it out till I find a job in a completely other field. Getting ready to move to civilization. I will go work as a cashier in Petsmart, would be way more fun..

Also, IMO, one of the most basic rules of MT is don't quit the first job til you KNOW the second job is a keeper.

The BEST statement you can make is find another job..oh and maybe, just let the ASR jobs fly through without correcting them for a bit so the doctors know what we deal with..

Yep, they just do whatever they want. That is why they have had legal problems in the past including getting themselves kicked off the NASDAQ and now having financial problems. Way to go, MModal!!!

If you ever talk to your manager on the phone, they say don't go to that site, it's just a bunch of negative people putting out BAD vibes and will bring you down to their level. Im here because I KNOW what has happened, they put out surveys, want our opinion, and they blatently disregard it..Cram 99.7% accuracy down our throats and on and on..They don't care, this is a dime a dozen job now..It used to be a profession, it isnt anymore.. I see the things typed from other people and countries I assume..And it is down right scary..But in the great US of A...WE have to have 99.7% accuracy..Maybe it balances the, probably 85% accuracy from overseas..I dont know, I dont care, fire me!!! I do what I can as I can, don't like it find another body to fill my shift.

Apparently they have plenty of fools who will keep working for them no matter what. I voted with my feet some time ago and couldn't be happier (as far as MT goes) with the new place I work. I think every day this place remains in business has to be some kind of miracle.

MM doesn't have a defense, doesn't feel it - needs one. It just bullies the industry.

It seems like people are highly infatuated with this company - They don't work for MM, but like to come here and start threads to generate a bunch of negative responses to get a thrill.

I have a hard time understanding why a person would be so preoccupied by a company they don't even work for.

Which MTSO do you work for? They are all pretty - much the same. See msg

If the one you worked for had a company board, I'm sure you would find there are a lot of unhappy people there as well with a lot of the same complaints you read here. And don't even get me started on the MTSOs who only pay 3 cpl and still can't manage to provide there MTs with enough work to complete an 8 hr shift.

Just so happens MM and Nuance are both big companies with a public board so all their dirty laundry gets aired, not the case with the other MTSOs. They don't have a public board for MTs to broadcast their complaints.

A new ESL dictating a DS. Can't speed him up because he's too "new" (to this country?). He is spelling every other word!!!!!! An email gets sent out around 4 a.m. stating there is a critical backlog and asking everyone to help out. The email shows the backlog, but it's really not that big. I love to be able to fill in blanks that people can't get and to help them. I wish I could give them detailed explainations so that they can understand the why of the error or resources I used to find it. However, because of the ridiculous pay and having to wade though ILP garbage (sorry, I don't enjoy helping them out), I'm only able to leave brief or even no messages to try to at least make what I did when being an MT. Imagine 8 hours of looking up "J. A. Smith" in phone books to write down his/her phone number. Then searching for the modifier for his second line. More like insurance work or accounting (even without the numbers) than language based work. I love the narrative of the reports I do, not the lab data.
