Have turned in notice ---sssoooo hard to make myself work. - nns

I have always been pretty rigid about exact time schedule, but now.... Well, let's just say I am trying to honor my notice. That, plus the fact I don't want my last check before Xmas to be "held up" for any reason.

Am I alone, or have others had trouble honoring their last 2 week schedule?

Same thing here. I was just so burned out with this company and had lost so much respect for them that it was hard to stay in there. Hang in there, it'll be over before you know it!!!

I was very curious to see what MQ would do when giving notice. I just received word that my old CCM left and I have a new one. I really believed that the old one would have fired me on the spot if I gave notice. She was just that way.

So they are going to let you work the 2 weeks? I would like to do that, as I am pretty loyal as well, but they have broken every promise to me. I was almost tempted to give no notice as I do not intend on working in this field any more. It is dying I am afraid, and the company has no respect for us at all.
I am glad you posted this. Perhaps I will give my new CCM the courtesy to let her know my plans. She seems very nice and I hate to spring it on her. I would have loved to spring it on my old CCM.. :) not nice I know.

or not. They are constantly hiring newbies for less pay and this shows in the reports coming to be QA'd. Just a general lack of familiarity with really common/standard medicalese. At least the blanks are easy to fill in. But whether we stay or go just doesn't matter. We are just names and ADT numbers and are easily replaced and deleted from the system.

So if they did to try to hold up your last check, I'd make a phone call to your labor board.

All states have slightly different labor laws, but I know in my state, they are not allowed to hold up your last check for any reason whatsoever. It must be paid on time and in full.

Hopefully, you won't have any problems. But if there are any problems, do call your labor board. They are there to protect you (the employee) and make sure that companies are in compliance with the labor laws.

I quit several months ago. Gave my 2 weeks notice but could only muster up enough energy to work 1-1/2 days. Sent them an email saying I was sorry that I couldn't finish out my 2 weeks notice. Got an email back saying thanks for letting them know and that was it. My check didn't get held up for any reason.

Just wondering what those of you who have chosen to leave the MT field entirely and go into some other business have found to do when you've been doing MT for 30 years? I have been turned down by 3 different MT companies stating it is because of California's laws creating problems. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a way around it? This may be an obvious question to most, but how do I print a hard copy of a document I recently completed on EditScript? Or can I? I have been looking around the boards for a bit and I see everyone complaining about working for peanuts (or less) for their MTSO. I currently work at home for a somewhat local hospital in my area. They sent all of their transcriptionists home about 6 years ago and their coders are home now too. I know that the other big hospital system in my area has all of their transcriptionsts at home too. Is it really that hard to find a job like mine or did I just get lucky? ...
