Just goes to show you we are just being used and abused and the money is all going to the top. I think it's about time some letters went to President Obama about some of this, to ask for some regulations on these companies due to greed, just like they placed regulations on the banks. This is ridiculous. We have got to work together to change this corruption.

Where did you get the info on the cost of outsourcing? It is hard for me to believe it is cheaper to outsource than keep transcription in-house. You know the quality of work is going to probably be better because you get to know the doctors, etc. I was thinking what I get paid, then all the QA people, supervisors, etc. I would love to actually see the comparison between in-house and outsourcing in black and white.

If it wasn't, they wouldn't do it. That's, of course, if there's next-to-no concern about privacy or quality (yep, in-house quality is just going to be better due to access to resources, etc., I agree with you there). If it was less expensive to keep it in-house, there never would have been the rush to outsource to MTSOs.

An interesting little calculator. I just used a random email and such to get my results, but based on a 100-bed hospital over the course of a year, MM estimates that in-house transcription costs will range $200K and MM can save that same facility an estimated 51% by outsourcing services domestically or 59% globally. With the update to 6.1, I began having computer crashes. When I logged on to DQS, my screen went black 5 times before it loaded. It did this every time. After a week, when I finished my shift and went to check my email, the computer completely froze. I don't think many with experience would accept .02 CPL. I would imaging this forces MTSOs to train newbies. I'm sure they have to pay QA far more than .04 CPL to correct and go over the work. Even if they did pay QA only .04 CPL to do this, they are paying at least .06 CPL total. By the time the new editor is sufficiently trained to go off 100% QA they have had more than enough time to realize that they will never make a living doing this kind of work, the lies ...

It seems that everying, from the governor's office down, is outraged and want the housekeepers reinstated. Hospitality Staffing Solutions are paying the new workers $8 per hour and no benefits.
