With the update to 6.1, I began having computer crashes. When I logged on to DQS, my screen went black 5 times before it loaded. It did this every time. After a week, when I finished my shift and went to check my email, the computer completely froze. Took it to the computer shop, and the guy said he deleted some of the programs in my "service program."
All was well for exactly 2 weeks, although I still had the black screen problem when loading DQS. The same thing happened again. Back to the computer place. He deleted some programs, and it worked okay. He had a refurb for sale, so I bought it to use as backup (it had XP), and got it partially set up, but I wanted some of the stuff on the ailing computer cloned to the new computer.
Then it happened a third time 12 days later. Totally frozen. Back to the computer place, hauling old computer and "new" computer. The guy said the program that was causing the trouble was "medquist," (not DQS). Now this guy doesn't know what Medquist is, but it was what was causing my problems. Every time I updated, updated the "fixes," and then reloading the newest 6.1, my computer crashed. He cloned my new computer to use as my "real' computer, transferred my bigger hard drive, and then I had to re-setup everything.
This whole journey of 3 repairs and a "new" computer, cost me over $1,000. Now I can log on without the 5 black screens, so maybe things will be okay with the "new" computer. Maybe my old faithful computer was trying to tell me something the only way it could - get out of this place, it's making me sick.
