Does anyone know what the current cost of COBRA is for the highest level of insurance (the "better" one) that Nuance offers is for a single person? (Well, single in that no other members are claimed.)
I've been offered an IC job that pays very well, but I have to keep my insurance (as crappy as this policy is). I know I can get healthcare through the marketplace thingy, but I'm wondering if I just needed to take COBRA for a bit, how much would it cost.
Please only respond if you actually know.
I will say this though, the job that I've been offered pays about 3 times as much as Nuance does. At least! When I interviewed with them, they said they knew other companies paid far less and others used speech recignition, but their doctors liked having experienced transcriptionists manually typing their work as they felt it gave a better end product, and they also knew that transcription costs were legitimate costs and not something that they felt they could "trim the fat" with and "heartlessly cut the pay of their valued employees."
Most of their employees are actual employees, but I'd be filling in as an IC just for when people are off, sick, etc. But they think that's enough to virtually keep my busy 40 hours a week!
