I honestly hope I get a call! Between PELL and TAA benefits, I might actually be able to pay some bills! LOL.....pray for me to get a call please! I wonder if we can request it???

We are all so tired of the NJA, etc., that we would rather be laid off, and yes maybe have some steady money coming in for a bit. I feel that way too.

for a layoff. Email from TSM today going on and on about no work situation, fill out remedy tickets, check swap board for extra hours and make up shifts and otherwise do the hoochie coochie and jump through hoops backwards to try to get enough lines/hours in. Then further slap-in-the face emails from Shaw "Wrong-jerk" telling us how we should do "power hours" to work faster and faster like hamsters on a treadmill going nowhere and then the latest corporate double-speak gibberish from Skunkan Duncan about how great MModal is and I'm just about to jump out the window because I've never been so broke in my life doing this job. It just never ends with this place.

Since I was one of the girls who was laid off a few days ago. Still waiting to get this so called package. I can also get into the system to work. Hahaha. Stupid company has no idea what the heck they are doing. Company just keeps getting worse and worse.

First Friday I have not worked in decades. Feels strange.

I received an e-mail today about the fact I am not meeting the production requirement of 150 lph --I just can't and do a decent job. I also do a lot of very short ESL notes, which are very time consuming to do. Anyway, if I am let go for the fact I can't meet their requirements, do I still qualify for unemployment, TAA, etc?

I, too, had the same discussion with my TSM. What can and can't qualify you for unemployment? I am at the point I wish I would get the call they no longer want me and I could just get unemployment, too!

Regarding UE if you're fired - No worries

It depends on the state you're in but most states will pay you for unemployment if you are let go for not meeting lines or quality issues. In my state, for instance, you have to fired for causes like stealing, blatant dishonesty, etc. to not be able to collect unemployment. I researched it when I thought I was going to lose my job. The TAA is also now an issue to look into but I can't imagine not qualifying for UE if MModal terminates you. If it will make you sleep better at night, call your state labor board and ask them. No one here can tell you 100% unless they reside in your state.

beyond smarmy, they terminated the part time MTs because when they apply for unemployment (and they are without question able to get it because their jobs were eliminated) they will find the govt will document the last five quarters of their employment and base their rate of pay on a percentage of that. 1-1/2 days of work. Out of 50 reports I sent 4 to QA (none of which were able to be filled in by QA). The reports I sent to QA totaled over 200 lines! I did the calculations (lines done divided by lines sent to QA x 100) and I came in over 10%. I am tired and frustrated from applying and sending out resumes only to be ignored. It is like a game with them, I think. Because we are hourly employees, the can legally punish us during PM as long as they pay us minimum wage. Lots of messages about time stamping my blanks. Uh, sorry no can do. If I realize towards the end of the report I have more than allowed blanks, then I have to RELISTEN to the report in order to get the time stamps. If I go ahead and time stamp 1 or 2 blanks and that's it, then I have to go back and erase all the time stamps so they don't show up in the report. So, therefore, I am not time stamping my blanks. Thanks in advance. I am CMT with 16 years experience, currently working for a recently bought-out MTSO. I will probably test with Acusis this weekend. Is 9.25 cpl realistic for Acusis at all? What's the % cut for VR pay? I see they state a 12-hour window. Is 36 hours considered full-time? Are you paid for spaces? VBC? Is PTO decent? Again, thanks so much! ...

in Word 2003. I just reformatted about a month ago and have been fighting with this issue since then. Every time I go into a new report, I have to recheck it but it doesn't always mean it will hold throughout the whole report. This is SOOOO annoying. I've done the research thoroughly and still cannot find any solutions. Anybody dealt with this before and know how to correct it? All help will be GREATLY appreciated so I can stop scaring my cats ...
