There are so many things wrong with this scenario I cannot even wrap my head around it. Fight your supposed errors with everything you can. Someone who thinks the word is eye-cycle instead of icicle should not be doing audits. Just my humble opinion. Especially now with the 99.7 standard looming. One error is all it takes to fail now.

They have been doimg them for quite some time. I cannot believe some of the things they put out. It baffles my mind to think they would allow them to QA us when they don't even have basic comprehension of English. Believe a 1st grader probably has a better command of English. I sometimes feel when looking at their work, if they do not know a word they will NOT look it up but guess. AMAZING. Cannot believe the hospitals are happy with their quality.

I am not going to fight one thing, BUT I am going to keep copies and document everything, then when they come after me I will show them that. No more am I jumping through hoops for this place; I am dancing as fast as I can and still it isn't enough. Let them send QA to India for next to nothing and let MM pay the consequences for poor reports. That is, assuming anyone cares besides us. I just type what I can; not enough for them, let me go and I will collect UE. When I have NJA, I look for another job and I am about out the door of this hole! I have never encountered such abuse from a job and so many rules and regulations and lies, that I just threw in the towel. When I find something else, I am gone and in the meantime, I am saving my sanity!

I will go down swinging. I refuse to be performance managed or forced to take a pay cut over mistakes that our so-called "auditors" deem to be errors. Not changing ? on the ADT screen should not be counted a major error. As stated before, the auditor changed icicle, which is an English word, to eye-cycle and marked me off with incorrect English word, minor error. If I don't fight for me no one else will.

Oh I am going to fight if they come after me; I document everything, but I am not about to go over things that are done incorrectly and not by me. Let M*M get what they deserve from us and that is nothing more than transcribing the report. If I agonized over all the reports that come back with incorrect corrections, I would never be able to work. I too will not give into them, but I am about out of here as well, so frankly my dear, "I don't give a d--n! Horrible place, horrible people and I am sorry, but I do not like QA editors at all, no matter where they are from. Their snide remarks and ridiculous "corrections" border on cruel!

eye cycle errors/corrections need to be documented if you file - for unemployment to show SM

their unreasonable standards and the absolute stupidity of the ESL morons doing the audits. Even the unemployment people should be able to see that's completely WRONG and the company is undoubtedly in error in penalizing you and whatever they may state that you're not doing your job so they can deny UC.

You guys cant just let this stuff go, you have to fight for what little rights we have as IC MTs.

I recently responded to an ad on Craig's List for an MT medical editor because I'm interested in getting into that. I got a test and a bunch of info back from a Larry Perrone of ANP Transcription. Fortunately I googled ANP before doing anything and there are piles of complaints here and at other sites about them not paying MTs. I would totally be leery of this job. They are liars and cheats and are always wanting you to work your days off and over, but pay you NO OVERTIME!! My company was bought out by Nuance several months ago and it has turned into a complete nightmare! Not only are the managers and sups arrogant and awful, but literally all the decent work has been sent to India and we are left with the dregs. BEWARE AND BE SURE you are truly an Independent contractor. This info is available on the IRS.GOV website (type Independent contractor in the SEARCH box and then click on IC defined). Just quit there. Seriously lacks organization. Their India "allocation" team throws bits and pieces at you, very low volume, but then hammers your IM to death. I use a program called DSS2Wave which converts DSS/DS2 files to Wav files. I LOVE this program and have been using it for over 2 years.
