Mediscribes ad - beware - bad company. - sm

Just quit there. Seriously lacks organization. Their India "allocation" team throws bits and pieces at you, very low volume, but then hammers your IM to death. Example, a 12 minute report is assigned, I would just get started on it and within less than 10 minutes they want to know where it is. WTF?! If the 2 US managers are out of the office and the India team is in charge, it's a nightmare. Then, even if the US managers are there, it's slim pickins as far as volume goes and then they hound you to death. It just wasn't worth the hassle of sitting and asking over and over where the work was and wasting hours of my time when I could have been doing something else.

I completely agree with you. Not worth it. - ESmt

Very poor organization, very little work, working for pennies, but harass you like crazy!

What other profession besides transcription, treats their employees the way we are treated? I cannot think of a single one or have I ever talked to anyone that takes the abuse that we do for so little money. They break you down every which way they can, threaten, "harass," fire you on the spot, turn off your system so you cannot get in and then fire you after your so called supervisor has "no idea" of what is going on. This isn't just this company but the majority of them. We are lied to about the work or the amount of work; the recruiters have never transcribed a word in their life, yet they make it sound like heaven on earth. How can this be happening and being allowed by so many MTs? I worked for Medquist and it was the demoralizing experience of my life. I just quit one day. I could not believe the anxiety they put me through and every paycheck got smaller and smaller and the accounts and dictation got worse. I do hope these so called MTSOs fry in hades!

I agree, the India staff on IM - Ex-Cardioscribes

would NOT leave me the ---- alone long enough to do my work, so I quit and went back to my old company. The most miserable 2 weeks I have ever spent at a job.

I am wondering what will be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me in this profession and Indians now "supervising" American MTs would be intolerable! I've just about had all I can stands 'til I can't stands no more. Fortunately I'm with a good company right now but I know that can change in the blink of an eye.

the whole company is Indian, its not a US mtso at all. - wonder what country gets the tax money NM.

its getting way outa control.

They called once and I wasn't home. My roommate told them I was getting my hair done. sm - Happy to be gone

[ In Reply To ..]

They told him to go get me and tell me that they had files that needed to be done. Not sure which is worse, that they asked that, or that my idiot roommate showed up at the hair salon and told me they needed me at work. Ugh. Add that to the constant hounding with IMs, a few phone calls at 6 a.m., and I said enough. IC means nothing to them.

I totally agree, I was recruited, hounded pretty much to get up and started with them - I agreed to work 6 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. but each morning there would be no work, then about 10 a.m. I would get hammered, IM'd and even called on the phone to do more and more work. I could only work until 2 and they kept giving me more and more. Also the progress notes took longer to set up than to do and worthless for the amount they were paying me per line, i figured I was making less then minimum wage. I had to resign and break my year contract but it was not worth the drama.

Thank you for the warning! - Looking right now

I am so desperate for a job I am ready to take anything but I do not want to take something like that!

I did radiology. Of course, these are short reports, only a couple of sentences usually. I would get a report or two, wait 20 or 30 minutes, get one or two assigned, type them, wait another 20 or 30 minutes -- went all day like that. The "India" boys who assigned the work were very nice on IM, but each couple of short reports would be like, "Can you take work?" "Yes." "The jobs numbers are 33333333 and 88888888." "Okay." "Thank you." So for every couple of short radiology reports, there was all this answering IM messaging, really ridiculous. You couldn't type when the IM would go on, so you were interrupted constantly with the above. I just hung in there until I could find another job. It was the biggest joke I ever worked for.

I read where someone wrote this was temporary gig.  What is meant by that.  I was recently hired and they did not tell me that.  They did tell me about being Indian based and all the rest about a home in KY.  I really do not know if they have Indian MTs but I would assume so, as most of the staff I have been in contact with are Indian and have very limited English.  Are you saying that they train Americans to do their work and then send them packing and send the work to ...

Possibly About To Be Outsourced To Mediscribes
Aug 07, 2013

Management says they are considering 4 MTSOs, and that we will probably be offered jobs with whichever they choose. Mediscribes is one of the four, so we have lots of questions about Mediscribes: Has anyone else here been hired by Mediscribes because their hospital outsourced to them? Did they keep you on the same account? Did they bring you on at one rate of pay, then cut your pay later (like Nuance does)? If yes, how much later and to what rate of pay? And for any Mediscribe ...

Mediscribes Based In Louisville? Right ;)
Feb 27, 2014

There may be one staff member in Louisville, but it's Indian owned.  Dig a little deeper. That's your first red flag.  Your second red flag is the knowledge that last summer, once the US labor passed QA for Mediscribes, they immediately switched to their own Indian labor immediately afterwards, admitting freely that US labor on the account had done nothing wrong, QA wise or productivity wise.  None of the 22 US laborers were given new ...

Beware Of The Big Three
Jan 06, 2012

I have a friend whose relative is a one of those aspiring Wall Street'ers and he was interested in hearing about my work as an MT.  He had done some research and looked at the publicly traded companies in our industry.  With the growth of an ageing population the documents we provide is more and more needed.  But that also creates a potential for a takeover of publically traded companies.  Just my (or his) opinion. ...

Beware ANP
Sep 10, 2012

I recently responded to an ad on Craig's List for an MT medical editor because I'm interested in getting into that. I got a test and a bunch of info back from a Larry Perrone of ANP Transcription. Fortunately I googled ANP before doing anything and there are piles of complaints here and at other sites about them not paying MTs. I sent Mr. Perrone some samples of comments MTs wrote about their habit of not paying us and told him I won't be working for them. So beware! I guess ...

TTS - IC's Beware!
Aug 01, 2013

I'm sure we are all aware, but if considering employment with them be VERY careful. I have gone round and round for days with them that legally they cannot require a schedule of an IC...but they don't care, one bit. Told me to look elsewhere then, after passing their testing, etc. I cannot believe a company this supposedly big does not even try to care when this issues is addressed to them, makes me want to report them.
