Annoying ding sound - Mac
Posted: Jan 15, 2015
Silly question--just got a new monitor and now have this "ding" sound on finishing a chart. Can't remember how to remove it. Any ideas?

Then under the Windows list, you may have to listen to them, but I believe it was either exclamation or asterisk. I changed mine to a quiet little click.
I thought there was a way to make that annoying ding sound at the end of the dictation when spell check is complete to sound softer. I have Windows XP. I keep looking in the control panel but it does not seem familiar to me as to the way I used to do it. In some reports if the dictator talks low and then when you reach the end it blasts out my eardrum. TIA. ...
Ah, after a day off don't you just love to come back and read your emails? Evidently I got a lab value wrong, which of course is possible but this was a significant difference and I have been very very careful, but hey, it's THEIR word against mine so????
Also, got a doctors name wrong that was not on staff at the hospital. I sent it to QA and got dinged for it with a note that said "he spelled it for you!" Yeah well, they spell a lot of things, and not always right! How ofte ...
Two questions. Does anyone else have the little screen that pops up and says Editscript has been inactive for 1 hour, will automatically shut down in 5 minutes and then counts down? IT COMES ON WHILE I AM WORKING! I have NEVER let my work sit for an hour, NEVER!
Secondly,I had an appointment last week so missed an hour and missed a few minutes here and there enough to be over 2 hours short on my normal working hours. First I received an email (ON MY DAY OFF SO I DID NOT SEE IT) that I must m ...
This doctor not only mumbles the name, but mumbles the spelling of the name. I try every which way to spell what I hear, but I get that "no matching results found for the chosen criteria" ALONG WITH THAT *$#$ DING. Its not enough to get that message of not finding the patient, but to hear that ding is driving me crazy....especially with report after report of this same name mumbling man... ...
Mr. Dictator: You do not need to repeat your name and spell it twice, dictate the patient's name and spell it twice, along with repeating the MR# twice before dictating your procedure, then do it all over again at the end of the procedure! Geez, I get it.. Last job of the day, thank goodness! ...
that I have had in a dictation, and I am sure that the dictator (PA-C) is annoyed as well. It's always annoying when she chitty-chats with the "girls in the office" while dictating, but in this dictation, one of the girls is mocking back everything the dictator says and continues to do so, after a little chuckle from dictator each time, to the point where the dictator finally has to tell her that this is important, it is for an attorney and she cannot mess it up. ...
I find it extremely annoying when finally I start to feel like I have enough work on a daily basis for a several-week stretch only to find the account manager has decided to "rearrange the pools" and put more MTs to a pool with fewer docs in the pool. When I E-mail my account manager and ask for more work, my E-mails go unanswered. So I bite the bullet, go with the flow, play the "sit-and-wait" game, and when I get new resident dictating for an attending and have to send the job to Q ...
It seems lately I have had a lot of corrections where they are removing what I have typed and marking as [UNCLEAR]. I am not getting dinged, but the reason this is bothering me so much is because they are doctors I am familiar with and know what they say. It's not like a skip is happening and I'm adding in something. There are dictating, not always the best dictations, but because I'm familiar with them I know what it is.
Makes me feel like I don't know what I ...
Hi.....using Dell, windows 7 pc, word 2013, and shorthand.
I like the feature on shorthand that you can check so that it uses the clipboard to dump shorthand entries into the text field on word 2013. I have some really long templates and when I use this form of text transfer (clipboard) on shorthand, it almost immediately dumps the template into my report. BUT, then a glitch occurs on all other entries. for instanct I have pt for patient a ...
LISTEN TO. THEY RATTLE NINETY TO NOTHING THROUGH AN OPERATIVE REPORT. JUST BECAUSE THEY SAY THE SAME THINGS EVERY TIME DOES NOT MEAN THE SAME PERSON ALWAYS GETS THAT TRANSCRIPTION AND AUTOMATICALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE SAYING. THEY NEED TO SLOW DOWN AND REALIZE THERE IS A REAL PERSON ON THE OTHER END OF THAT STUPID MACHINE THEY'RE TALKING INTO. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. THAT'S ABSOLUTELY ALL YOU CAN SAY ABOUT THEM!!!!!!!!!! ...
The ones who stutter, or lisp (both of which I despise), or sound like they're whispering through locked lips.
Some days it's so strange it fascinates me more than annoys me. ...
I had a fairly short note that was easy - and correct - except for a couple of lab terms I wasn't sure of because the dictator slurred over them. Wanting the report to be correct, I submitted it to QA in the hope that the "smarter" QA person would hear the lab terms and fill them in. Ha! She didn't know either, but instead went through and "corrected" things that didn't need correcting, I'm sure in order to justify her job. No more will ...
My manager said the low sound was fixed, however, I have reports coming in timed right now and the sound is still extremely low. I am on the West Coast. Anyone out here having problems still with the low sound? I can't hear the doctors! ...
.....dangled in front of me only to have it yanked away shortly! I am tired of not knowing from one day to the next whether there will be work or whether I will even HAVE a job!!!! Tired of chasing after work that does not exist! There MUST be SOMETHING out there for a 50+ year old person with 20+ years of medical transcription experience to be able to support themselves on, but if there is, I have not found it yet! I have said this before, and I will say it aga ...
I had my hardrive recently reformatted and I do not have any sound drivers. I don't know how to get them back. I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite. Anyone know anything about that? ...
The following nasty gram was sent to all independent contractors from the company owner. I'm just curious to know . . . how many ICs treated like this?
Hi everyone - I wanted to touch base with all of you immediately, as we have a very serious problem. Aside from a very few MTs who have notified us in advance that they would be out, we have many MTs who are not working their agreed upon shift and it has put us in a serious hole. If there is work in your pool for the physi ...
The doctor is stating, "There were palpable pulses in the epigastric area." This sounds funny to me, and I have never heard her say this before. What do you think? It is pretty clear, but this doctor is a ditz at times? ...
Wouldn't it make more sense if, with our improved digital and fiberoptic technology, the reports sounded BETTER instead of worse? I guess it is more about convenience -- they can dictate in the bathroom, on the soccer field, in the locker room, checking out at the grocery store, or riding a motorcycle. . . ...
Someone here mentioned the sound quality at DSG. Has anyone ever addressed it there? Seems that in this day and age, sound should be perfect. I have mentioned it here and there to them, but nobody has ever gotten back to me on it. Some of dictations sound like there's a piece of sheet metal being slammed with a hammer. Not good. And with ASR, it's really a mess. Oh well, probably getting out of this business anyway. ...
like an idiot, but would someone kindly tell where in the h*ll to find the information on the schedule change? i have yet to find it or the swap board and CCM not returning any emails. any insight/info would be appreciated. thanking in advance.

I'm trying to troubleshoot something. Does anyone else have sound-quality issues on DSG dictations? Just curious if I should seriously have this looked at on my end. It's not all reports, but enough so that I need to look into it one way or the other. If I'm the only one, I'll hire someone to look into this. I have no problems with audio otherwise, just work-wise. ...
I have a question about sound cards. I have taken 3 typing tests and even accepted a position that I had to give up because the sound quality is so bad that I can't understand what they are saying. Is it possible that it is my sound card that is causing this? I have a new Dell computer purchased in July of this year. What is the best sound card to use for transcription? Appreciate any help from anyone.

The anterior segment is improving, however it is requiring the use of Restasis twice a day along with sustained balanced four times a day and GenTeal gel in the evening.
Not sure if sustained balanced is correct?
Thanks! ...
