shorthand annoying glitch - me again

Hi.....using Dell, windows 7 pc, word 2013, and shorthand.

I like the feature on shorthand that you can check so that it uses the clipboard to dump shorthand entries into the text field on word 2013. I have some really long templates and when I use this form of text transfer (clipboard) on shorthand, it almost immediately dumps the template into my report. BUT, then a glitch occurs on all other entries. for instanct I have pt for patient and if I have shorthand set up for clip board transfer of text, it will actually type patient like this p atient or any other entires c holecystectomy ....there is always a space after the first letter.

Anyone experienced this? Anyone know a solution other than just not using the clip board method of transfering text from shorthand to my document? thanks in advance if you have solution.

Shorthand is such a good program, I am sure there is an easy solution. But I am not familiar with that function, so I cannot help. It sounds like a very useful tool. My suggestion is to contact the company. I am sure they are familiar with your problem and its solution.

Check out the lengthy FAQ page Shorthand has on their website. It addresses many different compatibility issues with computer systems and platforms. As a final try, do what had to do to make it compatible with one of my platforms. After you are already in your platform software and have everything open, right click on Shorthand and select "run as administrator." This was what I finally did after trying about 20 things, and it is the only thing that worked.

that I have had in a dictation, and I am sure that the dictator (PA-C) is annoyed as well. It's always annoying when she chitty-chats with the "girls in the office" while dictating, but in this dictation, one of the girls is mocking back everything the dictator says and continues to do so, after a little chuckle from dictator each time, to the point where the dictator finally has to tell her that this is important, it is for an attorney and she cannot mess it up. ...

I find it extremely annoying when finally I start to feel like I have enough work on a daily basis for a several-week stretch only to find the account manager has decided to "rearrange the pools" and put more MTs to a pool with fewer docs in the pool. When I E-mail my account manager and ask for more work, my E-mails go unanswered. It seems lately I have had a lot of corrections where they are removing what I have typed and marking as [UNCLEAR]. I am not getting dinged, but the reason this is bothering me so much is because they are doctors I am familiar with and know what they say. I thought there was a way to make that annoying ding sound at the end of the dictation when spell check is complete to sound softer. I have Windows XP. I keep looking in the control panel but it does not seem familiar to me as to the way I used to do it. In some reports if the dictator talks low and then when you reach the end it blasts out my eardrum. TIA. ...

I had a fairly short note that was easy - and correct - except for a couple of lab terms I wasn't sure of because the dictator slurred over them. Wanting the report to be correct, I submitted it to QA in the hope that the "smarter" QA person would hear the lab terms and fill them in. Ha! She didn't know either, but instead went through and "corrected" things that didn't need correcting, I'm sure in order to justify her job. No more will ...

Someone recently had an issue with Shorthand and Autocorrect both operating at the same time, and they were apparently fighting with each other, because both of them had some of the same expansions/corrections, so the user was getting duplicate text. I've been using Shorthand all along on my work computer and love it, particularly the fact that it works anywhere - email, Word, platforms, etc. I recently downloaded the trial version for my home computer, but, while it works fine in Word documents, it won't work at all anywhere else. Ok, I downloaded Short Hand expander program but, for the life of me, it looks just like the standard auto expander/auto correct that comes with word. I've looked over the very brief tutorial that came with it and I don't see where this will increase my productivity anymore than my current Word-based AC/AE work for me. Since I'm unable to use MS auto correct with my current platform I explored Shorthand, a program I used years ago. They've gotten too smart for me. All I want to do is add words on the fly. The screen I get when invoking SH10 shows no way to save any entry I might make. Surely I'm missing something here. If anyone can point the way I'd appreciate it--enter text, save and move on. Does it work interactively in MS Word? Can you easily transfer your entries from Autocorrect to Shorthand? I was checking out Instant Text but apparently now you have to download it, not avail on disk. I think this means if your computer crashes and/or you want it on a new computer you have to RE-BUY it (at almost $200)...yeah I don't think so! ...

I'm getting a company computer and will be working on that one and mine. They don't allow Shorthand (or any other program) to be put on their computer, so need to convert my Shorthand to Word autocorrect entries for the work computer. I would do it manually (you know, one entry at a time) but I have about 4500 entries and need an automated way. Thanks in advance ...

Don't know why this is not working . . . I need to get the "Suggestion Window Font" to a bigger size. I have changed the font to say Times New Roman 14 and it shows that it changed it in the "Suggestion Window Font" but when I go into my report and run a shorthand word it stays small, never changed. I got everything else to a bigger font except for this. I hit "okay" after I changed it. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks! ...
