After passing test, telephone interview, and application completion, - how soon afterwards will they make offer
Posted: Nov 20, 2009
offer, or will they let you know one way or the other?
offer - anon2

MQ must be testing like crazy to keep up with all of those who are leaving.
This question is asked at least once daily - see posting about half way down the page. It will depend on how busy HR is and which region they decide to put you in.
If this is what you want - I wish you luck. Hopefully it will work for you and you will get plenty of work.
Was wondering about all this testing myself. - jk

Doesn't say much for the company does it? I am just surprised the mass exodus didn't happen sooner--I left 2-1/2 years ago. What was once one of the best jobs I had had suddenly turned into the job from you-know-where. If I was still there now, don't know what I would do. Jobs aren't as plentiful or as well-paying as they were when I left. (had 3 job offers the 1st week I sent out resumes, all starting at 9-10 cpl)
Just got the call - offered 9 cpl Tier 3 - Be Happy!

If it don't work out, I'll just move my happy self right along to another company. It will be part-time to supplement my present job. They also offered me an extra 0.5 cents for working evening shift. It will be straight typing first, and I think after 30 or 60 days will be trained on ASR.
That is just not right. I worked for the Q for almost 12 years, - jk

Tier 3 the entire time, and got 2 raises. When I left I was making 0.0875 cpl. Maybe the higher cpl rate with even out when you sit around with NJA 80% of the time. Good luck. Just remember, even if you are PT, you have to work the # of hours per week you are required, even if the work is not during the hours you are scheduled.
Don't feel bad about the cpl - sm

This is my personal opinion only of course, but from what I have been observing, it seems that some of these companies are beginning to offer what sounds like a higher line rate just to get the MTs to accept the job.
And things are usually great for the first short period of time while they're training because it's almost always straight transcription.
But then, the new MT is transitioned over to the company's ASR and that's when the reality starts to set in with the lower pay rate and lower paychecks.
So really, I think some of these companies are beginning to offer what sounds like a pretty decent line rate, only because they know they won't really have to continue paying the MT at that rate for very long.
You are probably right. I got out before having to - work on ASR thank goodness. NM jk

on your job offer. That's a very good rate for part-time at MQ. The ASR may give you a shock with the reduction in cpl, but you can easily get more lines in with it.
Congratulations - nn

Welcome aboard. Like all companies, MQ is not perfect but I haven't found any out there that are 100%.
The 24 hours PT is a killer if you have another job, but can be done.
Good luck.
Same here, - Found a home at MQ

My mother finally talked me into trying MQ and I got hired 4 months ago at 9.5 cpl, Tier 3, night shift. I am very happy here, plenty of work with OT every weekend, pay has always been on time so far, and a wonderfull CCM and CTL. ASR sucks, but I am able to make the same if not a little more with it now. Big difference from my other company, who was always out of work and pay not always on time, and communication practically nonexistent.
The people still working here are posting that - sm

they don't have any work, so I don't understand why on earth they're hiring! Doesn't make any sense, unless their HR people just don't know when to stop......
Maybe a reason why MQ is still actively hiring - is because of this?

Just playing devil's advocate here, but even with so many MTs with no work, maybe they're still hiring because they know that they're about to make some changes that will result in a lot of their current MTs leaving?
So possibly they're still actively hiring because they need to make sure they have enough MTs to compensate for any MTs who leave?
I don't know, but with MQ, anything is possible.
They made me an offer during the telephone interview. - sm

Have you read the posts on this board about lack of work??
Called recruiter and was told interview was fine, hours were fine, they were just waiting to see if they needed the staff for a new account. Ok, that makes sense. At least I won't run out of work (at least I assume they have a good grip on their accounts). So, then I see another posting on jobs board that they are hiring. What's up? Is it worth it for me to pursue this? I currently work for a terrible company that I shall not name and I don't th ...
Here is the situation. I am currently going through an MT course, I am in the Beginning MT practicum and then I have Intermediate MT practicum to complete. When I originally signed up for the course, I signed up for the "complete course" (Intermediate was the final module) in order to receive my certification of completion. I have recently found out, quite by accident, that my school has now added 2 additional modules to complete the course for an additional charge of ...
From what I've read, the CCS exam sounds difficult and I'm curious if any Andrews grads passed the exam as soon as they were finished with the course. I guess really what I'm wondering is if the Andrews course prepares you enough to pass the CCS or is the course more geared toward the CPC.
I'm in the research phase right now, deciding which coding course is the best one for me. I'm also still trying to understand the differences between all of the coding credentials, bu ...
I am not sure which area to put this, as it isn't technical assistance I need, so I've put it here on the main board.
I receive my work through a Lanier station. I have been through the ringer with my telephone service provider a few years ago and was eventually told that if I ever dial the number again I would be black listed and never be able to have any service from that company again (Windstream in 2007). I was eventually able to get in touch with the higher ups a ...
As an MT, I avoid the phone like a hawk to everyone! Friends, family, and coworkers alike, during working hours and during non-working times as well. I HATE wasting my time talking on the phone period. To me, my time is valuable and equates to literally pennies on the line. Just wondering about how much communication you get from your MTSO and how much of it is actually pertinently top of the line necessary and/or how much can be weeded and cut out. Are you being micro-ma ...
I have gotten audited twice in the past week! They have pulled 6 reports on me. I thought that they only do 3 and do it about twice a month. I think something is going on there. What is the passing score. I know it is 98. something. Thanks! ...
I just did my final exam and did not pass. I got a 98% on the written and 82% on the practical. What happens if you do not pass (after alotted tries)? Can I still work in a clinic or doctor doing transcription or is all my training a big waste?? ...

Understanding that most employers don't recognize the CCA for the paper it's printed on, do you feel that by putting in a moderate amount of extra studying and completing an AHIMA-approved coding course one could sit for and pass the CCS - assuming they ever open the thing back up? ...
I interviewed with Accentus after passing their testing. The interview seemed to go just fine. The recruiter said I will need to have a second interview with the account manager, and b/c it would be a new account, this could take 1-2 weeks. It's closing in on a week, and I'm wondering if they are really going to call me back? Has anyone had a similar experience?
Thanks ...
Has anyone ever NOT passed the check? My credit is not so hot and I had a DUI about 30 years ago (dumb), so I am a bit nervous that this might screw up my employment. In the old days, people just hired you or didn't hire you. Sigh. ...

My computer crashed, and I lost everything on it, including the names of some past supervisors and their contact info. I keep calling and e-mailing my old jobs and can't get in touch with anyone that can give me this information.
So I apply for new jobs, and I need this info to put on my job applications. What should I put instead, since I don't have it? I put the name and address of the company and telephone number. What should I put for the supervisor name and contact numb ...
After being scared to death to make a change (or mistake) I revamped my resume and faxed it for a job for a non-profit organization working for those with disabilities. I probably won't get it and might not even pay as much as transcription still does, but was liberated that I took the risk finally. Thanks Q for getting me out of my comfort zone~~~ ...
I recently applied to a Craiglist ad for a medical secretary in a neurologist's office. I wrote that I would be available for medical transcription services in my home office, hoping they would consider outsourcing this part of their work.
The doctor emailed me yesterday saying he was very impressed with my credentials and would I consider working for them full time ( which I don't want).
I've got a bit of writer's block about how to reply to him so that he might cons ...
I'm just wondering if anyone can answer this for me. I know it sounds like a really ditzy question but...here goes. I just filled out an online application for US Transcription and completed their transcription test. I submitted it and it says the test sent but it took me right back to the transcription test page. Does anyone know if you have to do more than one? It didn't specify. ...
Hey! I've just recently moved and quit my transcription job working in a hospital. I'm actually looking to work for an online company but am really leary about scams. I wanted to apply with Medquist since I've seen people talking about it, but one of the first things they want is my ssn. That just seemed odd to me. Any opinions on this? Am I just being too paranoid? ...
