After working a half hour out of 2 hours of my shift, I am now sitting on the couch with my puppy leaving messages for TAA office, filing for unemployment and now talking with unemployment office while they figure out how the TAA petition works.

I agree with the others who have said please call TAA. He did not even want to know the details. They already know what this company is doing.

to be 20% less from when the work started going overseas and it affected you. For me it was October when they sent a bunch of work there. They wanted what I was making last year versus this year's wages. They figures last years average weekly wage with this year's and it was over 20% less. They will guide you through it all.

Hopefully they will be able to help me. I've been applying all day for jobs but no calls so far. I'm afraid it's going to be hard with so many looking for transcription work right now.

See the post entitled "Here's a good explanation of TAA" Then when you go to your local UE office, tell them you qualify for TAA and the MModal petition number is 81128. The word is getting out to the regional offices this week and by now they should all be familiar with MModal and what is going on. I wonder if the Mod could put a sticky since so many are asking about this?

I really need to know what TAA stands for...I am 2 months shy of my 62nd birthday and hope to retire. If I get laid off now, I will be homeless for my 62nd birthday. :(

The company I work for is changing over to ChartNet, with its ExpandText expander. I don't like that it has no way of adding/creating new shortcuts without using the mouse. The expander I use now is not compatible with ChartNet, and I'm wondering which expander is used by the majority of MTs....has no limit to the number of expansions/abbrevs it can hold, etc. Would welcome any suggestions. Thinking about Shorthand, but wondering what most MTs are using. ...

Can you ever get productive on MModal in the straight typing mode? Having to ctl+N and Ctl+shift+N for every header just doesn't seem productive. I'm getting so tired of having a report or two, then NJA, then while waiting another report comes, then NJA, etc., etc., early in my shift. Sure, we have been encouraged to just check back later on and work then. I really don't know why they suggest or even allow this to happen. I am sick to death of typing on accounts not in my BOB! This is the 4th one already and I am only an hour into my shift. There are no samples in the repositry, there are no jobs that come up under the dictator look up feature... I keep stuffing down the Tums, wondering why in the heck I was forced to do weekend hours when there is no work in my accounts on the weekend. I HATE THIS. How do you all do it?
