Sounds like an AHDI scheme to make some more money, since poster is a CMT - and should know.

But what little googling I did about it just pointed me back here.

Hospital where I work uses Tier levels 1-3. sm - CMT-3

[ In Reply To ..]
Tier level in our hospital is based on experience and what kind of reports you can transcribe. Tier 1 is newbies. Tier 3 can transcribe anything thrown at them. Tier 2 is somewhere in the middle. Our pay is based on this as well. Tier-3 MTs make the most per line. I came across something a few days ago that said Tier 4, and I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of that. Makes sense that it would include radiology and pathology I suppose.

Includes all worktypes plus Rad and Path usually - nm - Depends on MTSO definition

OPS, Tier II Vs. Tier III: Let Me Break This Down For You...
Jan 28, 2010

You can call yourself an MT and work for: 1.  A single provider nonspecialist. 2.  A multiprovider/multispeciality clinic. 3.  A primary hospital. 4.  A secondary hospital. 5.  A TERTIARY hospital.   You can do "ops" with any of these jobs.  However, at a tertiary hospital you will have patients who have failed treatment at primary and secondary hospitals.  Tertiary hospitals are teaching and research institutions where you will encounter research p ...

For Those Of You Who Have An Incentive Plan, Where Do The Tiers Start? Sm
Jun 28, 2013

The company I am with requires 175 lph minimum, then if you do 275 lph you get 1/4 cent extra and then at 325 you get another 1/4. This is all straight typing. Maybe I'm just in one of my dissatisfied moods, but it doesn't seem like much extra -- at their top tier you'd only make 1/2 cent more per line. Maybe I have it great and just don't realize it. ...

Proper Use Of Possessives, Need An Expert Grammar Opinion
Dec 17, 2012

Several years ago, Book of Style made the recommendation to drop the possessive form for names of tests, diseases, etc. - i.e., Alzheimer's disease is now Alzheimer disease BUT is Alzheimer's when standing alone, i.e., I have Alzheimer's (disease implied but not written) and most facilities have since adopted this practice. That said, if a doctor refers to an instrument such as Metzenbaum scissors, there is no possessive used....but if doctor says "I used the Metzenbaum's ...

Tier 1 And 2 Get All The H&Ps

This really sucks because those reports have the highest line counts, while Tier 3 does all the testing reports such as cardiology, eeg, cath reports, and surgeries.
