I know I'm not perfect but.... - not perfect

I have over 15 years as an MT. I think I'm pretty darn good after all these years. Perfect? No. But darn good. Anyway, my thorn in the side is whenever I test for a new MTSO lately my test score comes back at 86%. WTH? I am meticulous when it comes to testing and have all my books, etc. handy when taking the test. I take my time and know that I pretty much did 100%. Then I get the little email. "We're sorry but your score was 86% on the test. Sorry but we can't go into detail about the scoring. Try again in 6 months." Really burns me up.

Could it have been actual jobs you did for free? Some are using applicants for that.

Which can be done anonymously here. I bet their test is wrong for so many to get 86%.

And don't believe it for a second. I'm not perfect either, but 86%? I simply find that ridiculous.

That's what I mean. The same score on all of them with different questions, etc. Something isn't right. Are they just collecting resumes with no intention of hiring now?

I went through the same thing, but never even got a response and sometimes actually during the test, they wouldn't let me continue as I "failed" the section I just finished. I too took my time, have a lot of experience, but no matter what, never could pass. I just stopped doing those tests; especially MTTest; what a crock! The company I work for sent me three dictations and I did them and passed and was hired and that is the way it should be. You have to practically be premed or an English major to pass some of these tests and they take so long and the transcription is always a hassle too. What this line of work has become is truly sad. I wish you luck in your endeavors! Took me a really long time to find something decent and I am hanging on for dear life!

Different MTSOs, I know, but is it the same testing company? Some of you might not be aware that there are companies that contract to do the testing. Maybe they own a school. They have long been suspected of flim flam to get their students hired first. Or to coerce low scorers into taking their course or doing their "internship."

Or, if your score is exactly 86% every time, is the test the same every time? Maybe the testing software is wonky and making mistakes.

Otherwise, I would try to figure out what you are doing wrong. Could be it is something that you think is correct but the test company decided needs to be done differently.

I keep seeing this commercial on TV for insurance where the girl says "insurance companies - news flash. Nobody's perfect." Hello all! I just received an IC offer from Lee Perfect. I have checked the archives and cannot find any postings more recent than 2010. Anyone currently work for or recently worked for them in the past? Pros, cons? just shows which people are getting the gravy work while I'm drowning in the muck. The people sharing the nightmare accounts I'm on will NEVER be able to have zero blanks or even a perfect score considering the putrid garbage we're trying to hear and interpret, while obviously there's a nice little list of lucky people getting things they can hear & I'm sure able to make a lot more money as well.
