OMG are you serious? Did they give you a reason? I work for transcend and can't imagine them doing this.

They said they had lost a lot of business and needed to make cuts. It wasn't a big cut so I'll be fine.

I should have been more clear. I understand about protecting your identity. I meant which region are you in geographically? Since they are so large, no way to know what state, accts., TLs you work for. I was trying to determine if this was a region specific problem or a problem for all Transcend MTs. If this is a call we should all expect or if it was indiginous to one area, etc. I am the sole support of my household, that is why the interest. Thank you!

they are cutting - radiology

It is my understanding that radiology specialists have been getting paid straight typing for both straight typing (don't we love those templates?) and for VR and they are now going to be paid VR rates for VR.

Would not want to stick my nose in someone's business, but this "cut pay" post really concerned me. I appreciate your clarification.

Radiologist pay cut - Molly

I know radiology is a speciality but if they are/were getting the same rate for transcribing as they are for voice recognition, how unfair is that to all of us who get about half of what we made for transcription. My pay went to half as much about 2 years ago and I am more and more stuggling to make parttime status. That is not a cut in pay, that is what we all had to deal with and they should be happy they were able to get away with a decent pay this long. Now welcome to our world.

Got a call from Axolotl today about interviewing. Have heard good things in the past, but saw they were just acquired by another company. Any current employees with advice? Pay rates/platform? Is it straight MT or do they have VR also? Affordable benefits? Would appreciate any information. Comfortable(ish) at current job, would hate to leave and then have transcription phased out or pay cut. Thanks in advance for any info! ...

...to announce she (KK) has been promoted to a team scheduling type of position at MM starting early next month and another HDSM by the initials of KM will be taking over for KK. According to KK, KM is really nice and there are other MTs who are excited that she is taking over for KK. Whatever. I left MM a few weeks ago and today got a call. They asked lots of questions about how satisfied or unsatisfied I was with MM and I answered them all as honestly as I could. When they asked if I thought any of their practices were illegal or unethical...I told them that hiring people to work for you and then expecting them to use their PTO or go without pay when there was not enough work was extremely unethical. I am tired and frustrated from applying and sending out resumes only to be ignored. It is like a game with them, I think. MedGarde even has an interview which has absolutely nothing to do with your skills or qualifications. In fact it seems like psychological testing to see if you are mentally competent or something like that. I am considering requesting this pay which (depending on the state) considers us to be on-call and must be paid for part of our shift if no work. I have had it up to here with Nuance and running out of work, adding more and more accounts and STILL no work. An account manager sent out an email suggesting that we monitor our emails on our weekend days off, and then log on to help if requested. Am I the only one who expects to not check emails or work during my one weekend day off? Even though I have a required schedule, should I expect to work 7 days a week in this industry, including on my days off? Does anyone have experience with being on call, whether you have to be paid for on-call time? My husband works a job in maintenance and they just recently cut their hours back to 32 hours per week, having them off on Fridays. They told them that if an "emergency" occured on their off day that they would be called in. We have talked about unions, organizing, etc. Probably not very realistic. But surely there is some way to have our voices heard in numbers regarding the fact ASR is not the product they tell us it is.
