I was plodding along with a mush-mouthed doc dictating, and badly needed some samples with standard phrases. I found this word-help site, and on there was a sample of exactly what I was working on, and I found the word I was looking for! Maybe it'll be of help to some of you out there, as well:

and they're fabulous. I only have ONE tiny little closet in my apartment. I got some last summer and put all my space-occupying winter stuff in them: Down comforters, blankets, winter jackets and vests, etc. They really do work like they say they do, and everything shrinks down to a ridiculously small little package. I just opened my winter stuff this morning, and decided I wanted more bags; hence the brain-fart above. But, it's not all bad I guess, now you all have a real-life review of a product you see on TV every day! ;D

Very great site! Thank you for sharing. Are there any sites you know of that give practice tests in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure? Something like some of the MT tests are but they don't even have to be medically related. Combined with the site you just gave I could really polish my chops if I culd find a site like that.

Just wondered, if any of the other MTs who pull past reports ever notice the amount of mistakes in them? It seems like this evening, each time I pull in a report for a certain dictator, I find so many careless mistakes in these reports! I thought they were pretty rigid in checking quality with these documents. I realize we have to fly through to make our lines counts, but gosh, some of this stuff is just plain carelessness. ...

I'm always over 200 until I get Mr. Mumblemouth who knows he is not forming actual words when he hums through the PE, as my counts plummet to as loiw as 75 LPH. Then I get a long report from an excellent fast-talking dictator and my LPH jumps to 340. I am needing a sample of an ophthalmologic physical exam including abduction/adduction/ versions, LHT prime etc.. I need the terminology and layout. I am testing for a compnay and have done mostly surgery in the past, which does not include a lot of these abbreviations. If you know if any good web sites for abbreviations for eye exams, I would appreciate that too. Thanks! ...

The company I transcribe for has agreed to pay me per character line now instead of hourly rate, which is much more productive for me! Question being, do I submit my line count to them and how do they deduct my taxes still??? Where could I find a company contract for them so that we both understand that I'm still their employee but paid cpl and a flat rate when doing office tasks once in a while? I worked for LabCorp for 7 years - started at $14/hr - left 7 yrs later at $19.86/hour -- company has own credit card for employees - called a Clear Card - available to ALL employees - Regular working hours. EASY transcription!!! Could do it in my sleep! Benefits. Had a lot of overtime if you wanted it - ($28 an hour when I left - at time and a half). I would recommend LabCorp to EVERYONE! They also have data entry if interested. lower pay, though.& ...

Hey everyone, I know what you are going through. I worked for MQ for a very long time . I was tired of not making a paycheck. Try Etransplus. I work for them now and they are the most wonderful people. It is straight typing, no voice recognition AT ALL!! You can make up to 9-1/2 cents a line and they are not picky about how long you work. The benefits are not as good but they do have some. Try them out. It was the best move I had ever made. ...
