The global MTSOs have ruined everything good about becoming an MT.

1. Flexible hours (our time, not theirs)- gone

2. Good pay/livable wage - gone

3. Unlimited income (lots of work, anytime) - gone

4. Self esteem - gone

Remember the good ol' days?

These metrics and the micro managing are for the birds. Give me a break.

I am gone a week and found a job with a hospital system, straight typing, like the old days. These are hospitals which do not want VR and do not want overseas. They have people working there 30 years. My last day with the Nasty N was last week, and it is less than a week and my self esteem has shot up once again. I am realizing I still have the talent and brains to make money and I am! Send your resumes out to hospitals and take the time to set a goal and get out of there! There is no need to be making 200 or 300 most a week when you can be using your skill. The jobs are there. I did not think they existed anymore, but they are. And guess what, I am starting to look in the mirror and not be disgusted anymore! I did not realize that I bought the load of garbage in those e mails which whittled away my self-esteem, but they did... I highly suggest to do your homework and get back what you deserve! Don't get so far down you can no longer see... Good luck to everyone there, you are worth more than you know or are led to believe.

Oh I agree. A few doctors that I talk to are not happy with their work sent overseas to India. Lots are also not happy with the VR in general as well. The regular transcription jobs are still out there. I find finding work on your own working as an IC (and finding the work yourself) instead of these dime store places that nickle and dime a person to death like Nuance. I'm sick of these MTSOs and and them taking advantage of people. JMO.

I did put in a few applications this week. Hope to get something going. hard to know who to work for with so much negative being said about all the MTSOs. We have only one hospital where I live within 40 miles and they only hire with previous in house experience, which I don't have unfortunately but will keep applying. I like hearing stories like yours. Gives a person some hope.

I love being an MT but I HATE what Nuance has done to this industry. I'm generally a half-glass-full type of gal, but there is no getting around the fact that this place does suck. It is so discouraging to have our pay decreased while we work harder than ever, and I find the micromanaging suffocating. I feel encouraged by reading these posts about having hope. I am going to start looking elsewhere as I positively dread working for this company at this point. Thank you for sharing.

On paper, some of the changes sounded good, like the auto numbering. But in practice it seems like all this new version does is cause DQS to run much more slowing, constantly locking up, auto-saving (and slowing down) too often, amongst other irritating little things. Why can't their upgrades ever actually be an UPgrade. I think they need to start calling them DQS downgrades. Beware anyone thinking about working for Ascend! They are extremely unorganized and chaotic. I don't know why they make you submit invoices - which are very time consuming to prepare - when they will just pay you something different or not at all. They shorted my first paycheck by 1/3. I have a great job working at home editing. I love it. I've been in transcription 12 years but lately have the worst concentration ever. I always thought Cerner was a high-tech big deal. After working on their platform, I think it's crap. Hey everyone, I know what you are going through. I worked for MQ for a very long time . I was tired of not making a paycheck. Try Etransplus. I work for them now and they are the most wonderful people. It is straight typing, no voice recognition AT ALL!! You can make up to 9-1/2 cents a line and they are not picky about how long you work. The benefits are not as good but they do have some. Try them out. It was the best move I had ever made. ...
