I know where you are coming from.  I posted on here a couple of weeks ago that my husband passed away and I did not even get a "kiss my foot" from this company.  No card, no email...no anything AND my post was jerked off here in a heartbeat.  My CCM knew about it and another friend that works there as well.  I am so disappointed in this company...

All I can say is that is terrible and so insensitive of your company. Not all are like that though. When my mother passed on, I got many condolences from my company (KNR Consulting). I don't blame you for being upset. I think society in general is becoming very callous and insensitive in general. I just lost my lovely Siamese cat -- just heartbroken. Well my neighbor told me, "Oh he was probably a good meal for the coyotes that live in the hills." He just laughed and said something about the food chain and coyotes have to eat too. Of course this is not the same thing, but I am just saying that people are not kind or considerate anymore. some still are, but it seems to me that people are so stressed out and preoccupied with their own problems, they just do not take time to extend common courtesy or show sympathy for someone who has lost a loved one.

Again I am so very sorry for your lost and I will pray for you.

So sorry for your loss. Nobody and especially your boss should diminish how difficult a time this is for you. Last year I lost my father out of the blue, and I tried contacting everyone phone and e mail at my company. Nobody ever responded. Nothing. Knowing I had 5 days coming to me, I did not wait. I was so grieved and to be honest so disgusted with the way we are treated in this business (and that ignoring my requests for time off for my dad's death) I just took off. About 2 months later (no joke) they sent me e mails (HR) stating that they were sorry about my loss. My supervisor never said anything at all, nor did the other supervisors I tried to get word from. So you are not alone.
A friend of mine tells me to get out of this business simply because he believes we are paid low, shorted pay, bait and switched on job offers, and of course treated less than human in situations like this because they can't see us face to face. He believes a job in person where they have to see us as human beings they will treat people better.
Anyway, to let you know sorry for your loss, and you are not alone.

My deepest condolences to you about losing your Dad. That is so hard and to compound the pain with your company not extending you the common oourtesy or acknowledgement or to even let you have time off. That is disgraceful. Yes, your friend is probably right about the way they treat us. I was lucky when my mother died in that my company told me to take off whatever time I needed. On top of her dying, I was right in the middle of moving to the mountains then. Both are hard alone, but together caused unbelievable stress. I was torn about what to do and just left my husband alone with unpacking to see Mom before she died. She had a stroke on top of having dementia, so she might not have noticed if I was not there, but it would have haunted me to think I was not there for her.

I don't know what else to say, except probably we need to get out of this business altogether if we are to have peace of mind and not being stressed out constantly. Hope you find a good job somewhere.

I recently took a job as an IC, thinking it would be great to make my own schedule. HOWEVER, I have to work when the work is there. There is no making my own schedule. The work flow dictates when I work. There is no work on Monday or Tuesday. Maybe a few reports trickle in late Tues, but then more work comes late Wednesday afternoon, then work Thurs, Fri, Sat, and by Sunday no work again. Account is for clinic docs, no acute care. Coumadin 30 mg per day. Now, I want to make sure I'm not dreaming here, but that is completely incorrect, right? Maybe I'm having a brain lapse (been an MT for 20 years) but I want to make sure my thinking is correct that this dosage would probably be lethal? I'm going to leave a blank for the dosage, but I just wanted to double check with my MT friends.  I have listened to it many times, and she is positively saying "30 mg per day."   TIA!! ...

For the first time in a long time, I was in the cesspool.  I spent 3 hours with an ESL serial dictator, that was speaking so softly I couldn't hear most of what he was saying, and what I could hear I couldn't understand.  In one of the reports I only got 5 random words after spending a half-hour on it - and it was only 20 seconds long.  What should we do in cases like this - when you literally just Can't Get It, and not for lack of trying.   ...

I know there are many who are opposed to VR, but I would like to hear from those successful at it and enjoy it.  I need some tips.  I have to do this, and I want to get good at it no matter what. My account is fairly easy.  There are some problem dictators who should not be on there though, and this keeps my line count down to 250-300 most days.  Today, they were not on there and I edited 400 LPH!!  However, my hands are really hurting.  I am having trouble feeling ...
